Horse Sense....

And we're back fencing.

First off, the chicken wire seems (as I'm writing this, fingers crossed and holding my breath) to be working.  Donz has had a look round it, but so far has not got inside it.

That's excellent.

But Boo is getting really big, and as much as I've done well so far with fencing, it needs tweaking.  I've happy with all the road frontage paddocks and coming up the driveway and halfway to house - that's all hot now and so far, is working brilliantly.

But directly in front of the house, and to the side where the Welcome Paddock is...not so much.

It could be because we played round with it that the parts that were weak, just disintergrated or...well, I don't know.  I just know that I can do better.

And I need to do better before the next storm hits.

Rose was funny this morning, I let them out earlier than normal and she hadn't laid her egg.  But she went out anyway.

So there I am cleaning out the chook house and the next minute she's back in there, hopping from foot to foot...

She was desperate to lay an egg, but couldn't do it while I was standing there watching her.

I bloody love having chickens.

Ok, how weird is this?

You know that I am Miss Anti Caz, I keep saying that it upsets the body's Chi and that being in bed with someone is more, way way more than a physical, NSA physical sex act.  In fact, I talk about how it actually, instead of making you stronger, NSA sex decreases your soul force.

Well, apparently this is an actual thing.

It is called The Three Treasures and dates back from the Southern Song Dynasty (China), 960 to 1279.

And talks of the three vital forces and how all power resides in the:

Jing - (Original Essense) referring to the semen of a man or the juice of a woman, Qi - breath, and Shen - the Spirit.

The bodily form, Jing, is the residence of life, the Qi fills this life, and Shen controls it.  If any of them lose their proper position, all three come to harm.

Exactly.

And it is just crazy here.

First off, what I had originally planned for fence is not suitable.  So I had been going round checking other fences out, seeing what everyone else was doing.  Quite obviously, I was on the wrong track.  I mean, you may think that I always go out and do things differently, but that is not true.  I am always listening to new and different ways, often from America, then trying them myself.  Not just going off like a drunken possum without a bloody clue.

Biiiiiiig difference.

Anyway, got a new Plan A and all set for tomorrow.

Wish us luck.

Which brings me to getting the wood home.  You remember I got it delivered first thing Saturday morning, after only ordering it (yes, that day no wallet, money etc) 4pm Friday?

Well, I asked about delivery today and they said, Sorry no, we don't deliver on a Saturday.

I just left that one well alone, and went and picked it up (they gave me a free trailer this time) and all good.  I remembered I had trailer on back and got home, then back to give it back, safe and sound.

And then I had a good idea...

I had passed a place that sold super cheap firewood.  Like $50 a cube, so way, way too good a deal to pass up.  Now I had bought from them before and remember it was annoying, because I did 3 trips.  So I thought, Well, I just won't buy three cubes.  Ignoring that funny ding ding I was getting that maybe I had forgotten something here.

Asked two (2) different men whether I could fit a cube on the back.  Actually, I asked if I could fit 2 on the back of my Dmax.  It was a no to 2 but a thumbs up for 1.

All goods.

Man tipped wood on ute and I was thinking, That's a lot of wood... but anyway, guy finished and said, See ya...

So I left.

Stupid stupid girl.

The wood was piled up right to the top of the cab, top of cab, not top of side of ute.

Then I drove 25 km's home.

With it all unsecured.

Don't you give me that look!

By the time that I realized what a mess I was in, I crawled home, praying that no one was calling the cops on me or that a cop was on the same stretch of road as moi.

Because 100% they would have got me for dangerous driving.

And I still have another cube to pick up Monday.  Obviously with a trailer this time.

But then I got a phone call re Belle.

Apparently when I was paying for Belle and Boo for all these Series things, apparently I missed one for Belle.  So the lovely gentleman rang up to remind me.

In having thought about this, I believe Belle is now paid up if she wants to race in Australia.

But I don't know.  Maybe not.  All I know for sure, is that she can race any damn place she pleases.

Honestly, it was just a super weird day.

****

And Pat stands there in the morning, outside the chook house, waiting for his chicky babes to come out.  And then he bloody counts them!!

1...Rose, 2...Kai-Anne, 3...Pepper....

I bloody love him, he's arrogant, cocky, bossy, a giagantic pain in the ass, and you can't see him for dust if he thinks he's in trouble, but he's a lovable rogue.

****

And as I'm writing this our chicken wire fence is still excellent.

Go us!

****

And we fenced, fenced, fenced, fenced and painted solidly for the last two days.

It's been insane.  Mostly we dodged the rain, had to stop to get more wood, but I am, as I am writing this, bloody stoked with what Mr Builder man and myself, accomplished.

It looks awesome and the Welcome Paddock, which was starting to worry me, is mighty fine.

You know, there's not room to breathe here at the moment, just trying to keep on top of things on a daily basis is massive, but you know, seeing our success today, made that not so important.

****

And on a similar but different note,  I read in the paper today that we can expect -6 degrees on Tuesday.

I have never had -6 anything, and certainly not weather.

Gave horses extra feed as Mumma is still feeding Boo-ba-licious.  I thought she had finished and had weaned, but apparently old gutsy refuses to go off milk.  So Mumma is not wearing a jacket and Boo-ba-licious cannot.  Not only is he not trained to wear a jacket, he's just as likely to get stuck and then we''ll have all kinds of bloody trouble.

However, I did open up the arena where the little ones and Az were, so everyone is running together.  They'll keep warm with their combined body heat.  Well, that's the plan.  I'm not too sure how well that will work as tonight the little ones and Az were back in the arena and Cappy, Mumma and Boo-ba-licious were all snuggled up in the outdoor stables.

Well, at least everyone has as much food as they can eat.

We should be fine.

And as I'm writing this the rain is pelting down, the fire's going, I video chatted the young one from bed this morning (he passed his Drivers License today and can now officially drive in the US of A!!! super proud, Mumma), I have awesome fences, happy horses and chocolate.

Life's good.

****

Belle's just left to start her big girl training.

****

Mumma now hangs out round the house at lunch to let me know it's lunchtime, she's hungry, and then get this...She tells me what she wants!

I kidd you not, hand on heart, true story.

But as I am writing this it is bloody freezing, we've had hail storms, then fine weather, then back to freezing cold so I'm checking on my babes all the time.  However, everyone seems happy and warm, the stables are dry and cosy and my babes are all on 3 meals a day, plus as much hay and baleage as they can eat.

We'll be fine.

****

So that's been our week:

We're working hard here, super amazingly busy, and always we are trying to find a better way.  Are my babies better, stronger, more put together than others out there?  I'm always trying new things, have my ear to the ground on what others overseas are trying and generally trying to treat my babies as what they are, Elite athletes in baby training.

I'm always looking for the edge - to make us cleaner, clearer, smarter, more put together.

It's super exciting, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Big hugs and horsey kisses from us here, to you there.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, and of course, my beautiful Mumma Bear, Belle and Boo-ba-licious, Pat, Chuck, Daisy, Delilah and Donz and our chickens, Rose, Petal, Kai-Anne, Pepper, Lily, and Shelley.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh wait...you want to know what happened with the wood.  Well, it went like this:

I organised a trailer, went and picked up 1.5 cubes, then another 1.5 cubes, hand unloaded, by myself, 3 cubes, 4 if you count the first day, and after speaking with 5 different peeps, on 3 different occasions, man number 6 said to me today, Didn't you want us to deliver?

** And to the guy who asked me (quite politely) if I would be interested in a Caz FWB's scenario (me just being one of his many friends, but you know, regular like, but no drama type stuff or "catching feels") well, to borrow a phrase from my beautiful Mumma bear...

And you can fuck right off.

*** I just tried Venison bacon for the first time.

OMG it is absolutely delicious!

*** It only got to 1 degree here.

I was out talking to Mumma this morning and said how lucky we had been, that it was just a bit crisp.

She gave me the death stare and said, It's not warm, Tania...and I still want my 3 damn meals.
