Horse Sense....

So Fenny's got her game on.

She's been standing at the gate when I feed out breakfast to Caps and Ralph.  Not doing anything, just standing there giving me her mooshie eyes.

Which I thought was cute.

So I feed out, then head down the path, round the corner and feed Mumma and Boo, then off to Az.

Then I came back up to the house and Hello! what do I see?

Fenny has waved her horns all around, scared Caps and Ralph, and her and Flash are standing there chomping down on their feed.

I got the hose out and sprayed them with water.

Continuously, until they moved.  And kept moving.  It took a while.

Caps is happy, Ralph is super happy and Fenny and Flash are sulking.

****

And we have two new chickens who have come to live with us.  They are short a few feathers, because they got picked on and didn't fit in in their last home, but fingers crossed, so far everything is cool here.

They are super cute, brown, white and fluffy and black, white and fluffy.  The young one named them Grease and Lightning.

Cool names, but I sound like an absolute dick calling them.

****

And moi has been lurking round, trying to pick up fresh poo from Mumma and Boo.

Mumma put out today, but Boo was like, Yeah, I don't think so... and kept putting his tail up, then swishing it round, before putting it back down.

Finally I got it, but obviously only once I had dropped Mumma's up to the vet.  And 10 minutes before closing time.

Anyway, as I am writing this, Boo's is sitting in my fridge, right down the bottom in not just one, but two, fully sealed, plastic bags.

****

And now the bloody cows just sit in the open gate part of the paddock, and stop Caps from getting into his paddock for breakfast.

Hose out again, and while I'm squirting the cows, Caps gets his trot on and sweeps past them into breakfast.

****

Finally, we've got something moving.

I give Fenny and Flash a little handful of feed at the fence.  Not perfect, because they're bloody cows and should only be eating grass, but you know, reward good behaviour.

Or bribery.

Take your pick.

No races at the moment, but Spirit never let me down, so Spirit being a bit stubborn re this is ok.

But to be fair, I was right.

Which in itself, was not as satisfying as you would think.

****

So it was a boundary day today.

Bloody Fenny, Flash AND the Big E who thought he would give me a bit of ram.

No, no, no and NO.

Out with the water again with Fenny and Flash, water with the Big E and then a big stick with scary things on the end.

I think we spent about 20 minutes with the stick with stuff on the end.  Mostly because I then had the hump and every time he even looked at me, I was there waving the stick.

I'm not putting up with that shite.

Fenny and Flash are getting the gist of what is, and is not suitable behaviour and what I will, and will not put up with.  Caps is funny though, watching him trot round the place dodging cows and horns.

And then to top off a very weird afternoon, just as it is getting dark I look out and see Az chatting to Little Boo over the fence.

WTF?

OMFG I had left the hill paddock open.  To be fair, it would have been an awesome video of Little Boo frolicking around.  Unfortunately, it is not a paddock that is safe for little ones at night.  I don't even leave them in there if I'm out for a 5 or  6 hours.

Mumma was not keen on leaving said paddock.

In the end I gave them extra feed, and Hello! everyone was hooning back through the 3 paddocks with a, Here!

An unusual afternoon.

We're at some phenomenal Energy right now.

Thank fuck.

But this Solstice, and Jupiter and Saturn conjunction, looks as if it will be a doozy.  Already it is bringing up stuff, and I know myself, that directly because of it, I'm making changes.

But that's what planetary Energies are all about.  Showing where things are lacking, and/or need slight tweaking to improve or actual direct change.

And while these re-tweaks and re-balances are happening, I think I'll take a leaf out of Mumma's book today...

Ears back, lunging forward and literally hoof stomping on anyone who steps over her boundaries (she literally did this today with Pat - lunge stomp, lunge stomp).

That's my girl.

Bad news: worm count came back at 2200 for Mumma and 1400 for Boo.  Less than 2 weeks ago, Boo was 300.  I am not a happy camper and am wanting a recount.  Mostly because my horses look too good to be this wormy.

And I'm using this natural worm stuff.

However, if they are, we need to get onto it and find a better plan.  Tomorrow moi will be out at paddock, and will not be moving until fresh poo is picked up, and then delivered to Vet.

Excellent news: Belle's baby Daddy has a little colt over in Oz who has been doing pretty damn well.  I don't follow the Oz races, and I wouldn't have recognized him from his name anyway, but it just so happened we were checking foals being sold at the sales early next year and found him.  Not him being sold, but as having some good results.

Bloody finally, is all I'm going to say.

Anyway, he has had, 5 wins, 3 seconds and his Best Winning Mile Rate: 1.53 3MS which apparently is bloody good.

All I care about is the bloody thing can run.

Congratulations to owner and Trainer.

And Boo's and Mumma's fecal count came back....drum roll please....

Mumma = 200

Boo - 100

Awesome end result!

Our lovely Vet was happy, but was like, Ok, there can be a little discrepancy but not that much.  Either the lab made a mistake, fecal got confused with someone else's, there was a typo...or you did something.

Rule Number 1 - DO NOT lie to your Vet.

Well, it goes like this...

We've had an awesome fecal result though, we just don't know how we got it - so we have more questions than answers.

However, we are almost 100% worm free, and that is no small feat, baby.

Back to the drawing board though.

Next fecal count in 3 weeks.

So that's been our week:

There's been a lot of success, but some things did go pear shaped.  I've been trying to keep two feet in two paddocks, but it's not working so well at the moment.  And as much as I say, These are not my choices... and try and be really Zen, I am getting to a point where I'm like, Hunny, you have got to get with the program.

I think it is because ultimately, I'm success focussed.  I work really hard to get success, mostly it works, on the times it doesn't, I go back, find another way, and do it again.  And again, and again.

Fine tune, tweak, tweak again.

So I find it very weird when other people don't.

But if I tunnel vision here and only look at our home and my horses, the whole, Damn, that's awesome! wins by 10,000 miles this week.

Big hugs and horsey kisses from us here, to you there.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, the Big E, and of course, my beautiful Mumma Bear, Belle and Little Boo and of course, Pat and Chuck and our newest additions, Grease and Lightning.
