30 Sec's on....

So there I was on Instagram the other day, and the next minute this gorgeous cat pops up.

Honestly, it was bloody stunning.

And since it was sitting on the bed, and obviously a house cat, I fell in love with it.

So found myself scrolling through other little vidoes of it.

And some were damn cool.

Gorgeous home, great couple, awesome cat.

Until I came to one video and the next minute, out of nowhere, the bloody thing starts hissing and spitting and snarling.

I kidd you not.  Spitting and snarling.

Works out, it wasn't a house cat after all.

It is, in fact, a Serval.

A wild cat native to Africa.

Technically, not much bigger than a medium sized dog, and not banned under the Controlled Alien Species or Exotic Animals Legislation.

But that doesn't mean it is a good idea to keep them because:

a) They spit and snarl.

b) You can't house train them, because they mark their territory by peeing everywhere, and a litter box just doesn't hit the spot.

c) They run to catch their prey which, to be fair, unless you are letting mice, rats, birds and the odd fish, out in the house and then letting your little darling catch them, your Serval is not getting its nutritional needs met.

d) They're fast and they're strong.  They jump high in the air to catch flying birds and can slap fish so hard they stun them, and last but not least,

e) You can de-claw them, but de-clawing them is the same as cutting off your fingers at the last knuckle, and that makes them super bad-tempered.

But I guess the question you really want answered is this:

Are they dangerous to humans?

Well, would you want one in your home, sharing your bed?

You can't fix stupid.

Kissy hugs
