30 Sec's on....

C’mon Barbie, let’s go Party!

Who doesn’t know those words?

Those were ones that we grew up with.

We knew Barbie to be blonde and gorgeous and well, if we’re being honest here, a bit of a bimbo.

Who also had a gorgeous boyfriend.

Ken.

So I went to  the Barbie Movie thinking that it would be the same.

But it was nothing like it, and as I’m writing this, it’s breaking records as a Feminist Flick, making more than $486 million in sales since it opened.

And what I’ve realized is that, one way or another, we all loved Barbie.

I personally, have found myself (although to be fair, I’m always a pink girl) really throwing myself into the pink vibe,  although I’ve drawn the line at pink glitter shoes and Barbie t-shirts.

But it did make me stop and think about a couple of things like:

1) We really, really, didn’t think much of Ken.

2) We did think that Barbie was cool.

3) Pink is Barbie.

4) Barbie wasn’t mean.  To either other women or herself.

5) Barbie is hot.

I think a whole new generation just fell in love with her all over again.

But wait...I also saw Oppenheimer.

His whole life, who he became, what he created, all happened, because of that one damn apple.

Kissy hugs
