30 Sec's on....

OMG I almost deleted my son today.

I know, right?

With all the scammers that I deal with, and there's a lot, I almost fell for the oldest trick in the book.

The Mom one.

And it went like this:

Hey mum, this is my new phone number the old one you can delete.  My phone broke.  I have to get it fixed or buy a new one...

And I was at the point of deleting when I went, Wait...

So I text the young one, Ok, so you've just sent me a new phone number? xx

After a couple of smart ass texts, he was like, No.

Then got a bit offended that I might have sent some other random dude money.

I was like, 'scuse me...there's some guy pretending to be my son...can we keep focussed please?

But then we remembered when the young one had just gone over to America and he got told that he had been targeted by scammers.

How did he find that out?

He went into the living room where his flatmates were and said, Hey can one of you take me to the bank please?  Like now?

And they were like, Sure...

The young one was like, Now?  Got to be now...

Why?

FBI is on the phone.  I've been scammed, they've said that I've been targeted because I have transferred money from New Zealand (which he had) and the FBI need me to transfer money into this new account.

Hang up.

No, really, the FBI's on the phone...

Hang up.  It's a scam.

But...

Hang.  Up.  Scam.

It took him a couple of weeks to tell me that he almost gave all his money away to a scammer as he was a bit sensitive about the whole situation.

But now I can't talk, I almost deleted him today.

Kissy hugs

T and Spirit
