30 Sec's on....

I don't know about you but I love having a son.

Well, first off, I've heard they're easier than girls and that's a bonus to start with, but I love their way.  I mean, one minute you're raising them, raising them, raising them and then Whoa...Did he just growl at me?  Like, Tell me off?

That's a Yes! in case, you're wondering.

I mean, seriously though, one day, you're telling them what to do and the next, Boom, baby your son has walked in and he's pointing his Witchy Stick all round the place, setting boundaries, ideals, goals (real or perceived), asking questions you don't want to answer and generally causing all sorts of chaos and mayhem.

Let's take the young one the other day...

He walks in the house and 30 seconds later, he pokes his head back out the french doors to where I am and asks, Who was here today?

Which put me a bit on the back foot considering it had been like Picadilly Station that morning with people coming in, out, offering us stuff and taking out other bits and bobs.

Actually, there had also been a bit of dodgy stuff going on as well so I was trying to find out what he knew before I opened my mouth.

Don't give me that look.  Pot.  Kettle.  Grimey.

Anyway, moving right along.

So, there he is standing at the french doors with his head poking round eyeballing me.

Silence.

More silence.

I haven't got to 48 years old without learning a few tricks.

No one...

And then he's off.

Well, there's more cups in the dishwasher, 5 teabags in the sink and two empty foodtown cake containers on the bench.

He took a breath.

And you don't buy that stuff.

Sometimes he's very smug.

So, then I was explaining who, where, what and how my day had gone.  With a little tweak here and a slight twist there and an outright lie sitting over there in the corner.

Then I was feeling pretty smug.

And he just stood there, nodded his head while making some good uh huh noises, then went back inside.

Only to pop his head back out a minute later.

Oh, guess who I was texting today?

Silence.

Your name came up...

And then he was laughing and doing the High Five.

I'm having a girl the next time round.

Wishing you much love and abundance and a truly courageous heart.

T and Spirit
