What an awesome weekend so far! All the plans that I originally had were wiped out and replaced with new and exciting other plans lol. It is times like this that I feel that my Angel literally stops the traffic for me and goes sweetheart, take my hand cause we’re going in this direction! and I have to say that I haven’t had this much fun in I don’t know how long :) Just about all the time I had one very cute 2 year old in extremely close proximity and even though it has been many, many years since I have had such close contact with one so young it was such fun….vineyards, wine tastings, tucked away deli’s with olive oil tastings, fresh breads, fish markets, chocolate shop and speciality stores….great food, excellent wine and fabulous company! And I have to say that I had forgotten exactly how much fun it is to go to a (completely outdoor) farmers market with a very styly (bright pink mohair) 2 year old and company in the persistent heavy rain…..lol - lucky I hadn’t bothered putting on make-up or done my hair lol While I’m talking about markets let me just say that sometimes you have to look for them. I had heard about a particular market and had trekked out there about 8 months ago - and it was kind of cute - old ladies with their freshly baked scones and home made jam and cream and little knick knacky things but if I am honest I didn’t think that it deserved all the amazing things that were said about it. Well that would be because I was at the wrong market!! Same day, same location but the market I should have been at was a tiny 4 k’s away. How could I have got it wrong? Well, it wasn’t very well signposted and even when you were outside it looked pretty average and not really worth stopping for….how untrue…we (me, 2 year old and company) tracked down to it today and it was the best experience and one that I will be repeating on a weekly basis. Well you walk down this driveway (like a paddock thingy) and turn left and there is this packed outdoor thing - it defies words really lol let me just say: cheese, fresh breads, organic fruit and veges, coffee, twisters, cupcakes, fudges, choc, wine (and a mulled wine stall where you can drink and shop at the same time lol) freshly made ravioli and matching sauces, fresh fish, organic meats, herbs and it goes on and on and on….Moral of the story - check directions lol Foods been ok the last couple of days - maybe a little more than is good for me lol but you know, what can you do? Food yesterday: brekkie: fruit muffin, snack - large cappuccino and almond croissant, snack - choc, bread and dips and a teensy sample of choc from choc shop, wine, dinner - fish, asparagus and rosemary potatoes with more wine and more choc. Today: brekkie -fruit muffins, snack - cappuccino, lunch - smoothie, dinner will be….roasted lamb with garlic, honey, rosemary and a little butter, asparagus with freshly squeezed orange juice with a little butter, broccoli with blue cheese sauce (with fresh garlic) and potato cubes with garlic olive oil, thyme and salt and a little red wine with a teensy sampling of the rest of the chocolate shop delicacies lol
Thought of the day: I am one fine cook ![]()
