Well, I managed to survive the detox until 1pm today when the headache got so bad it felt like 10 midgets hammering some sense into my brain with pick axes…..no, you’re right, not a good look lol End of detox! The previous two days had worked particularly well and I had been feeling fine and dandy but got up this morning with a little less energy (ie wasn’t awake before the alarm clock and in fact was quite difficult about actually getting out of bed) and had a slight not quite right feeling which went to a headache and glands up then to the midgets. Overall detoxes are pretty good and this one I had heard really good things about but I shouldn’t have got a reaction like that. As my food normally is pretty good it should have been an easy transition but there was obviously an ingredient in the detox that made my energy get too wet which put my glands up etc. The moral of the story….always listen to what your body is telling you. Immediately. The silver linning though (everything has one) is that I decided to get a huge amount of Vitamin D (sunshine) while drinking a huge amount of water - there are worse ways to spend an afternoon lol It brought home to me though as to why I had decided to start this journey and it was all about getting the young one’s and my body to maximum energy levels and for both of us to achieve and keep our soul weight so on that note I read more of the 100 health boosting foods. It was interesting because we eat a lot of those foods already but I decided to add smoothies to our food. The book talks about juicing (which I am a huge fan of) and eating organic where you can (that’s me!!) so is a book that works with my (it would be our but the young one doesn’t realise he has one yet lol) food belief system. Anyway, on that note I burrowed deep in the bowels of our cupboards and found our blender and the smoothie I made him after rowing was a huge hit with the young one. Ha! Have to get my measurements a bit better but he hoovered everything down anyway so no left overs…. Food: glass of detox, snack - another glass of detox, lunch - sushi and choc, snack - choc, snack - smoothie with banana, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries with a little organic yoghurt and orange juice and dinner will be roast chicken, mashed potatoes with brocolli and blue cheese sauce with brandy snap fruit baskets with a little cream and a little wine to wash everything down lol
Quote of the day: Sweetie, there is nothing that a hot bubble bath, choc and a bottle of wine won’t cure ![]()
