The young one had some major issues about waking up this morning which is really unusual but just goes to prove exactly how much of a difference food makes in not only energy levels but also regeneration ability. Sunday (because it was our first actual rowing experience lol) we were told to organise our own food which I took to meant there wouldn’t be food there but a distinct lack of forethought on my part meant we stopped at the local bakery first thing Sunday morning….what should of taken the young one 24 hours to recover has in fact taken almost 3 days so today included a mad dash to find food books which were going to help me learn quickly what foods do what, when which led me to buy two books today: the first one 100 Health Boosting Foods and the second Sam Stern’s Cooking up a Storm. What fabulous books! 100 Health Boosting Foods helps with what foods are good for what which is helpful and gives quick, cute recipes like banana and peanut butter smoothie or lemon and basil penne and the differences between protein, carbs, nutrients, phytonutrients, their names, what they do and how you find them. Right - that’s my book lol The second one Sam Stern’s Cooking up a Storm is written by a teenager for teenagers and talks of brilliant breakfasts, cool, quick lunches, school recovery, evening chill out, impress the girls, mates round, weekend family meals, puddings, party (party, party), exam survival and essential extras which the young one snaffled quick smart! I am pleased to see a definite swing back to natural and organic food and men cooking lol….train them young and keep them lolollol The lemon detox seems to be going well….will talk indepth about it tomorrow…. Food today: glass of lemon detox, another glass of lemon detox (after gym), 4 pieces of sushi for lunch and a little choc, another glass of lemon detox, then had to have an emergency bit of choc as panicked between afternoon snack and dinner, and dinner will be stuffed mountain bread and late snack maybe a little choc (not sure yet).
