Today I want to talk about Folic Acid. Folic Acid is talked about by the Medical Profession in a very positive way and I do believe that for some women it does work….unfortunately I don’t believe it works for every woman and I believe that a lot of hormonal issues that women have can actually be put down to too much Folic Acid. Now, this is not just something I think but rather an accumulation of facts taken not just from my clients but also my personal friends. If you are particularly sensitive (for lack of better words) what Folic Acid does is tip the hormones. Remember when I talked about wet vs dry energy……an abundance of Folic Acid makes you wet. It can have a very negative side effect ie making you feel quite down and weepy but on the up side it quickly leaves your system. If you have overdosed on Folic Acid then bread, potatoes and pasta will bring you back in balance but about 2 litres of water is needed to flush the system of this toxic substance. So, if you have been taking vitamins or minerals and you are not getting the “up” feeling check out the back of the packet or jar and see whether Folic Acid could be one of your bad vitamins. Food today: brekkie - 1 slice of organic toast with strawberry jam and a little cheese (all organic), snack - prunes, lunch - white fish with salad and 1 afghan, snack - yoghurt raisins with dried figs and dinner (will be) organic nachos, late snack - acidophilus and raspberry yoghurt.
