Horse Sense....

So I'm getting things really right...and not-so-much.

With my big horses - Bloody brilliant!

I could put Mumma to foal this afternoon and have a successful insemination, she's in that good of a condition.

Cappy is looking happy and well.

Belles is a little pocket rocket.

Boo-ba-licious is looking, acting, and getting, mighty fine results.

I know my feeds by look, smell and touch, and that's the way I like it.  I like knowing what is inside, and what it is doing with, and to, their body.

I literally could not do any better with them.

Az on the other hand - one step forward, half back and a sideways.

I am sooooooooooooo close to getting success, but not, it is actually painful.

Again, I was out in my shed going, What the fuck am I missing?

Going back over all my witchy stuff again, trying old things in new ways and different dosages.

I am so fucking close.

And I am soooooooooo grateful for the No-poo experiment.

Didn't love the actual reality of getting to it successfully, or successfully for me, but I have learnt so much in the journey about bodies that I just wouldn't have known.

Which helped me to get things perfect for my big horses, and tells me that I can get it right for Az.

So now  due to all this bloody rain, Auckland has now been declared a State of Emergency.

To be fair, Auckland Airport is flooding, houses have slipped, people have needed to be rescued, motorways are jammed, cars are swimming, and overall, it's a bit of a cluster fuck.

I feel a bit guilty saying we're fine here.

Normal flooding, but no more than normal.

Boo-ba-lious is fine, as I popped down to give him a hot feed this afternoon, after I had hot fed the big horses, plus little ones AND the cows (don't ask).

I do feel a bit bad as Az and the little ones don't have jackets on, and it's totally my fault.

By the time I thought they should, it was raining so hard it was too late to do it.

So they're nude.

However, they too had a hot feed, so should be fine, and when it's not raining it's like 22 degrees.

On a super positive note I'm blonde!!!!

No more skanky ass yellow.

And to be fair, it was bad yellow.  Well, when my son goes, Ummmmmmmmm what colour is your hair? You know you're in trouble.

And it only cost $44.

No nasties in it, and I was blonde within 15 minutes.

Actually, that's not 100% true.

I'm white naturally in some places, ash in others and this gorgeous other blonde/ash kind of colour.

It's bloody awesome.

I had my spray bottle with plain water with Tea Tree oil in it, so tipped out all the mixture into another container and just left about an inch and a half in the bottle, then added about 25 drops of this purple stuff.

Shook.

Sprayed.

I also on my No-poo days use a half cup of epsom salts, mix with hot water, add some drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil (or leave it out if I'm feeling so inclined) and add about 5 drops of the purple drops and it still works perfectly.

I love Ethique shower wash (I add 10 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil to it after I have made it and when it has cooled down) and I loved the Purple shampoo and conditioner bars, but they did not keep the blonde for me.

But the bars are awesome to use and I will continue to use them.

I also use their oaty (not purple), shampoo bars as soap.

Works amazingly for me.

Where I got gold, or blonde haha was through another New Zealand company:

https://www.halohaircare.co.nz/

Halo Toning Drops.

Freaking LOVE them.

Like Ethique, no parabens or sulphates and completely plant based - just awesome hair products using herbs and working with the natural Ph levels of your hair.

I can't believe that it took me this long to find the drops - they are legend like.

I also bought a pure boar hair, hair brush.

I can't tell you whether I like it or not yet as it is soooooooooooooo different to any other brush I have ever had.

But apparently it cleans while brushing, makes your hair shiny, evens out the sebum (your hairs natural oil), keeps it in great nick and generally is a bloody rock star of a brush.

I still wash my hair every 3 ish days, but it is in such awesome nick, I would never go back to what I was doing.

The No-poo worked really well for me.

Not no shampoo-ing maybe, but learning about tweaking food, Ph balances and getting my personal body right - it was bloody awesome.

And continues to be.

* Really like the boar brush.

Apparently, there are different brushes for different times, so I now have a boar brush mix for wet hair (after shower to de-tangle), boar brush for blow waving, and my original boar brush for brushing when dry.

And back to full on natural deodorants, my favourite being:

N8 Essentials

Ylang Ylang and Juniper.

The things you didn't realize you didn't know, eh?

For future reference I am not the girl you muck around re feed.

When I order, and you muck up the order, then lie and say it was the feed company's fault, and I cannot get feed for another 5 days because it's the feed companies fault... well, I'm calling the damn feed company.

I'll speak to the receptionist, sales rep, manager and/or CEO if I need to, to get a result.

Which then has a trickle down effect:

You'll piss the feed company off who don't like being dumped on, because you're a dick.

Then your boss will yell his ass off at you, because you made your company look like a dick.

Then you'll sulk because you got caught being a dick.

Moral of this story: Don't fucking lie, you look like a dick.

I had the feed physically in my hand, 4 hours after I made the call.

Foods I'm loving this week:

Fresh pineapple last thing at night.

Works with keeping the tummy in awesome balance.

** Bucketloads of fresh smashed avocado with 4 cloves of fresh garlic and heaps of lemon juice.

*** Kimchi with noodles

The "Comes in a pot and just add boiling water" kind (but ONLY the noodles - no sauce sachet or any dried shite), kimchi, and 3 whole garlic cloves crushed, and then all mixed together.

It is freaking delicious and the best food for your tummy.

Love my Fruit and Vege man who everytime he sees me goes, Have you tried Kimchi with this...

**** I've also found out how to make my favourite bread, Ciabatta.

Takes about 3 minutes to make with 4 ingredients.

Sits in the fridge for anything between 6 hours and 3 days, so pretty much almost impossible to fuck up.

Bakes in a Le Creuset.

45 minutes warming up the oven with Le Creuset, 30 cooking minutes with lid on, and then 10ish minutes with lid off.

With home-made cashew creme cheese and hot smoked salmon

And bucketloads of human granola which today is salty-sweet-spicy-sticky-and-hot

***** Oh wait....and Boo-ba-licious with Anna today having his Chiropractic/massage hour.

****

And good luck to all the horses in the Revell Douglas Series Race 5 and 6 at Hawera on Friday.

May the best driver win.
