Horse Sense....

Ok, so what started off as two ducks joining our feed now...well, I turned around and Boom! there were 20 patiently waiting.

I ended up waiving my hands all around and yelling at them to get out and the next minute the ducks are all flying out and squawking and the hens are all standing there calm as anything, Yeah, we're with her...

****

And there I was mucking around outside today and I turn around and there is Mumma duck with 10 little ducklings.

They'd just been born.  Mumma was so proud of herself, she was like, Hey T, check out my babies! as she was doing a little parade around me.

They are sooooooooooooooooo cute.

Following on from Sir Ian Taylor and his questions to the PM last week, this is the new updated version for the pleebs like you and me:

On November 19th our PM added a clause to the Covid 19 Public Health Response Amendment Bill (No 2) that effectively gives Dr Bloomfield the power to seize the assets of a privately owned company and pay for their services at a commercial rate that he will determine. They can appeal that decision to the District Court – but no further. There is no right of appeal to the higher court.

Ok, that's a bit weird and not ok, but then Sir Ian goes on to say...

Do you think that it is a reasonable use of urgency given that it seems we are in this position because of a decision Dr Bloomfield and the MOH made about taxpayer funds being used to subsidise just the one, Canadian owned, nasopharyngeal PCR test which is now running up to five days late in delivering its results when there was a Kiwi solution on offer as well?

Is it likely that it is this kiwi company that will now have its assets seized under this new law?

So, wait...we gave the contract to a Canadian owned company, instead of a New Zealand one, then changed the law so Dr Bloomfield has the power to seize the assets of any privately owned New Zealand company, like the one that didn't get the contract.

Aren't you worried?  No, seriously, isn't this scaring the living shite out of you?

And while I am on the Covid-y subject, do you know that Ivermectim - you know the horse wormer that has been banned here, has been used on over 4 billion people with less than 30 adverse reactions? Or what about Monocional antibodies that can decrease contracting Covid by 82% between 2-8 months.

Monocional antibodies are also legitimate SARS COVID-19 medicine and have been used in India, Japan and USA.

We've never even heard of Monocional antibodies here.

And what about the Rapid Salvia Tests that literally give you instant results, and that you can get at a pharmacy or supermarket overseas?

Why can't we get them here?

Why are we so far behind the rest of the world?

How come we still only have 350 ICU beds for 5 million people?

Why are nurses and Doctors not being paid stress money?

Why has Queenstown been left high and dry when it is one of our biggest Tourist destinations?

Why has our Auckland hospitality industry not been given more of a helping hand?

Why is Dr Bloomfield still the only person who can give an exemption for 5 million people?  And why are well over 100,000 people still waiting on exemptions from Dr Bloomfield?

Why has Lower Hutt City Council and the Chris Hipkins electorate (he who is the Response Minster for Covid-19) decided that their libraries and pools will open to the unvaxed and that no vaccine passes are required here?  (Otago Daily Times, 3rd December, 2021).

6th December, NZ Herald, Kawerau District (in the Bay of Plenty and 69.3% vaxed) Council website said vaccine passes would not be required at their council offices or pools and libraries.

Also, 6th December, NZ Herald re Women, Botox and Fillers:

For a long time we've known about delayed onset reactions, when the immune system is a little bit active it can detect the filler and cause a bit of inflammation in the filler, a little bit of swelling, and a little bit of redness.

For the women who have found this out after the procedure, I can promise you that it is not a little bit anything.  They have been completely freaked out and very, very upset.

And some are still experiencing reactions.

Did you also know that the New Zealand Reserve Bank is seeking feedback on the introduction of a Central Bank Digital currency for the country?

This means that we will be a cashless society.

The deadline for submissions is 10am on Monday, 6th December, 2021.

What the fuckity fuck fuck?

Oh c'mon, y'all.

****

OMG and guess what I found today?

One of Mumma's baby ducklings (boy, naturally) had jumped/fallen into the tyre feeding bowl.  Actual big tyre size and the little one was less than half the size of my palm, so fuck knows how he even got in.  But there he was, all by himself.  Lost.

And since I always check the food buckets when I pass to see if there is any food left, I saw him.

He was just standing there looking at me, then did a few baby jumps up and down, then looked at me again with his little brown eyes, Help...

I got him out and was doing a few duck cuddles thinking that I could take him inside and look after him, and then Mumma appeared out by the shed with the rest of her brood.  So I put him down and he ran back to her, while she gave him a bit of a snuggle then growled at him for getting lost!

Then they all walked off and disappeared.

OMG they were soooooooooooooo cute.

And on a that's a bit weird note, over the last three weeks or so, actually, it would be a minimum of 6 weeks and most probably longer, I've been having cravings.  No, not just little ones, I mean craaaaaaavvvvvvvvings.  Nuts mostly.  I can't even look at salmon now.  In fact, I'm pretty much living off nuts, pumpkin seeds, vogels bread, chicken, avocados, tomatoes, lemons, bananas and eggs.  But not any kind of chicken, it has to be butterflied chicken on the bbq.  Not drumsticks, not chicken nibbles, not thighs bits, it has to be this chicken.

And not all kinds of nuts.

Just peanut butter, cashew cheese, peanut M and M's and peanut butter in baking ie: Slutty brownies (brownie base, big peanut butter layer then a teensy chocolate coating on top - these are particularly good frozen) or peanut butter fudge.

Of which I have just perfected.

The chocolate peanut butter fudge was good, but the good ol' fashioned, peanut butter one was the real winner.

And I can't stomach the white of eggs.  Only the egg yolks.

And I'm hungry all the time.

But only for those foods.  I'm not like hungry for say steak or kumara or watermelon.  Or cakes, biscuits or even like different kinds of chocolate or M and M's.

I'll kill for peanut M and M's and I'm eating so many of them that I'm embarrassed, but apart from that I'm like, Meh!

I mean, seriously, any food which doesn't fit in to any of those above categories, well, It's a no from me.

And I'm feeling a little flirty again.

Could be Menopause, but technically I should be having depression, weight gain, hot flushes, my hair should be thinning out and I should be having bad mood swings.

Of which I'm having nothing.

In fact, I'm having the complete opposite.

****

Cows are coming next week - couldn't get only 3 this week.

****

Oh no!  It looks like we have a stoat again.

You know how we had all these little ducklings.  Well, 10 to be precise.

Now's there's just 1.

The one I rescued, who is the size of my palm now and technically shouldn't be still living as he gets stomped on, walked over and generally is the lowest of all the ducks.

Naturally, because he's so smalll.

But there he is, living his best life.

Fingers and hooves crossed he stays away from being stoat food.

He's so damn cute...and I love a fighter.

****

We lost every single duckling.

Ok, I can't believe this, so Auckland opens up, everyone rushes to go eat out, and I literally cannot get my head around how people think that this vaccine will recognize distance, vaxed vs unvaxed and Government mandates and how a few days ago we were (ok, ok so not all of us) were vaxed but at home because this virus kills, and now here we are, outside, inside, eating, drinking and being merry in extremely close quarters, and everyone thinks we're fine.

I just can't get my head around this.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

What I will say to you though, is that what you're hearing about the vaccine mandates in the papers and news, I need you to understand from someone who lives in Auckland, how you are hearing these vaccine passes are working is not accurate.

We are not asked for vaccine passes in every shop, butchers, bakery, cafe, bar, restaurant, beauty place, hairdresser, nails salon, botox etc.

The unvaxed are not banned everywhere.

And we are not 90% vaxed in Auckland.

No matter what the government is trying to tell you.

****

Ok, so it's not just my chickens that are a bit off right now, because my neighbours are also a little, Meh!

Apparently, chickies are a bit well, you know, delicate, and don't like to lay too many eggs when it's:

a) too hot

b) too cold

c) changeable and

d) they don't feel like it...

****

So that's been our week:

It's a little Alice-in-Wonderland-y but overall, we're happy here, getting tanned, having regular naps and living our best life.

I'm also on the hunt for that fucking stoat.

Big kissy hugs

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, and of course, my beautiful Mumma Bear, Belle and Boo-ba-licious, Pat, Chuck, Rose, Petal, Kai-Anne, Pepper, Lily, Shelley, Ossie, Marmite and Geraldine.
