Horse Sense....

Liam's first Covid test came back negative.

****

So it's been an unusual couple of days.

The biggest change is that Mumma stepped up.  All of a sudden she went, Oh, you want me to discipline... and she got her shite together.  Boo has stopped his mouthy-ness by about 80% which is a huge change, and Mumma is teaching him table manners.  Like where you stand, why, and for how long.

That's super impressive to watch.

But to be fair, the only guidelines I've had to work with, are these:

One rule for everybody - Do not kick, bite, rear up, front foot, hit, punch or otherwise scare.

For lack of any formal training, that rule seems to be a bloody good one.

I've slowed everything right down now, and will do so for the next couple of days.  Mostly because this Horse/human door is a gift.  Both to humans and horses.  It needs to be respected and at this early stage it is extremely fragile, so needs to be nurtured.

We've set boundaries, now we just sit in the Silence and let everything re-adjust and settle, until Boo moves forward again.

****

On a weird and totally random note though, Chew, since him, Belle and I had that little accident type thingy, well, he never once has gone into the shed and misbehaved since.

Or tried to leave the property.

It's like he's really sorry and since then has gone, I love you, I love being here, and I don't want to be anywhere else.

Instead, he just hangs round the house, walks with me, and has developed this super special ability, to sense when I'm near, or have, food.  When the weather improves, I'm going to give him a wash, and start house training him again.

****

OMFG I've just bought Chew some adult diapers on line.

I'm too embarrassed to actually buy them in the shop, well Murphy's Law, I would run into a super hot guy.  Or someone I knew.  Possibly both.

I better not be on some random list now though, and get bombarded with these things.

They also better come in brown, You can't see what I've just bought packaging.  And yes, before you ask, I did pay extra for special packaging.

Oh, bite me.

****

I heard today that Mumma's Daddy (not to  be confused with Mumma's baby Daddy) well, some of his other off spring, won the first 5 races last night.

That there is some nice genes, baby.

****

So it's Day 10 (as I'm writing this) of Liam's flatmate having Covid.

Liam has no symptoms, neither do any of the other flatmates and the Covid-y one is getting better.

Yet I've just read in the NZ Herald today, that there is 1 death every 30 seconds because of Covid in America.

****

So Mumma likes her lunch at 12pm.  Not 11.45 not 1.20.

12pm thank you very much.

So there I was leaving the house today and who is standing at the house fence?

Mumma.  Nickering at me that I need to feed her luch.

It was 10am

No.  It's 10am.  Lunch is 12.

Silence.

Yes, but you won't be home in time.

Silence.

Yes, but...

I went and got her lunch.

****

WOW.

I always end up exactly where I should be, when I should.  But sometimes that doesn't really work for me and I'll whinge, bitch, moan and complain.

But 100% of the time, Spirit go, Wait...

And within a day or so, usually hours, things have become clear and I'm like, Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh....

Today was no different.

****

I'm so happy with Boo and how we're coming along.

He's a fiesty little bugger and got some good game.

Our boundaries are also pretty damn good.

Well, they're a work in progress, but so far we're winning.

The video's are also working really well for me.  I'm consistently trying to be better, and they show me where work is needed.  Funny thing is, about 10 days ago I went, I don't care whether anyone thinks I'm tall, short, fat, pretty, not-so-much...I only care about Boo and the video's.

That was a game changer.

****

And Az and I are learning some freestyle cool stuff.  It's a lot of fun, and sometimes we even get it right.

Cappy is like, I'm not a dog, I'm not doing tricks.

Well, ok then.

****

And I think I've done ok with Belle.

There's a couple of things which have happened which make me go, That's good....

Too early to tell for sure, it's just a feeling.

****

Belle's worm count came back today at 300.

That's ok, but still a little high for me, even though a high level is 500-600.

We have been using the powder natural wormer and overall it's done well, however, with the weather being so crazy, it may have awllowed the worm count to get high.  Off to town tomorrow to get one half of the liquid natural wormer I need.  Will recheck her worm count in the next week, possibly two.

****

Liam's fine and Covid free, as is all the rest of his flatmates and the one that was Covid-y is fine.

****

So that's been our week:

There is so much Spirit, it's crazy.

And not in a good way.  I mean, don't get me wrong, not in a bad, scary way, but just not 100% right.  Not in the lovely way that they normally work.

At the moment, it's got an edge to it.

I'm interested to see how things go though, I have a feeling there's going to be a few curve balls in the coming months.

Already there are signs.

And I have tingly hands.

Big hugs and horsey kisses from us here, to you there.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, the Big E, and of course, my beautiful Mumma Bear, Belle and Little Boo and of course, Pat and Chuck.
