Horse Sense....

No Boo, but it's all good.

Boo pokes his nose out and then goes, Nope...too cold and goes back inside and snuggles right back up again.

Mumma is in the last day of her, Don't come anywhere near me.... so we're all just waiting on the first super sunny day.

On another note: we're back to worming issues again.  As you know, there's been a lot of colic round this year, I've heard from excellent sources in the scientific community that it is directly related to a particular brand of worming.  Although none of the commercial wormers seems to be amazing.  The horses seem to be getting immune to what we are giving.  So, back to looking at new options or old options in a new way.

First off, Mumma and Little Boo are back on the natural wormer that goes in the feed from last season.  It worked really well, Belle was non wormy as was Mumma.  It worked, they're back on it.

The rest of the tribe at home will also be put on it.  But I'm trying a new get rid of current worms first, so am trying a Liquid Gold and a natural liquid mixture.  Working on the theory of righting the Alkaline/Acidic balance.  When one balance goes out, the tummy goes out and worms are able to live and procreate.

However, I'm not a Scientist nor do I profess to be.  I understand that the balance needs to be right but you know, unless there are feelings, emotions or Energy involved, I get tired of the conversation real quick.

So to be honest, I'm not the best person to ask about this.  However, go do your own looksee around this - my friend Kathy, runs Liquid Gold on Facebook.  Kathy knows her stuff and will talk until the cows come home about all the science-y bits you desire.  There is  an extraordinary amount of scientific documentation to back it up, and phenomenal photo's of the healing and how it works.  To be fair though, I am all for anything that works for the horses.  I do not allow myself to be confined by human limitations of what should or shouldn't work because of previous belief systems or because it is not my (current) way.

My mind is open and I'll try anything.

The weirdest thing in the world - this natural Get rid of worms wormer, seems to be working.  I'll have to track down some poo and get it analyzed, to confirm but you know, on first impressions, we seem to have success.

Mumma not spitting out Boo.

In fact, if I could be so bold, Mumma is doing everything she can to push him out and he is doing everything he can to hold on.  In fact, I actually thought that Mumma was in labour yesterday.  Obviously  not.  However, today when I was giving her a Miri Miri her bum was jelly on one side.  First time I had felt it like that.  That was cool.

So we Miri Miri a lot.  But only when Mumma wants one and she is very vocal as to when she wishes to Miri and when she doesn't.  Trust me, you don't have to have any special abilities to pick that one up.

My most challenging aspect at the moment though, is learning how to keep myself safe while I'm Miri Miri-ing her bum.  Because she has a bad habit of backing right up to me, so I'm directly squished into her tail.  Which is not so bad, however, if I push the wrong place she unconsciously kicks out.  I've managed to slide myself into her side, very close to the back, but tucked in like a baby.  That seems to work really well.

Tell you what though, anyone who says the Clair-senses are not important has never Miri Miri-ed like this.

It's Caps Birthday today!

Every year it rolls around I realize again, how much he changed my life.  What joy, laughter and vibrancy he brought in.

And how much I'm a better person directlly because of him.

That's cool.

Boo still hasn't made an appearance but to be fair, the weather has been pretty crap so I didn't really expect him too.  However, the storm didn't really hit here as much as other parts of the country, so we were really lucky.

Even so, Boo absolutely 100% refused to come out.

OMFG I realized this moring that I didn't have a plant to put Boo's placenta next to.  Quick trip down to Gordonton/Cambridge to my favourite plant place to pick up the cutest miniature apple tree.   Then I also picked up the big apple tree I had promised Cappy for his Birthday.  The little tree is on the deck in the hugest blue pot (oooooohhhhhh...he's going to be a boy!) and the big tree is planted down by the driveway paddock, right by the fence so when it gets bigger Cappy can just lean over and snaffle an apple or two.

No doubt there are big flaws in this theory, but you know, Caps and I think it's a cool plan.

Little apple tree in pot, on deck, now ready for placenta.

And before I forget the No commerical chocolate is working amazingly.

Now don't get too excited, I still have lots of chocolate but it is of the Trade Aid, Fair Trade, Rich Milk stuff.  It literally has no chemicals or nasties or Soy.

I melt it at home and then add granola (Pam's Luxury one - DO NOT use one that has coconut oil in), Murray River Salt, (home made) dehydrated pineapple and dust with coconut or I mix heaps of dates (which have been put in the processor to small chunky bits), granola and melted chocolate and then roll in coconut.  Either way is super delicious and very little chocolate in the end, as I pack as much goodness in as I can so the chocolate is literally just holding it together.

I didn't end up loving the Toffee crunch chocolate I made, but ended up loving way, way too much, the rocky road (melted chocolate, chopped up marshmallows, chopped up dinosaurs and heaps of granola) so won't be making either of these again in a hurry, and most probably the toffee, never.

But anyway, I feel amazeballs.

Best.  Decision.  Ever.

No Boo, but we do have one rooster and a chicken who have come to live with us.

And it went like this:

Do you want a couple of chickens?

Do they lay eggs?

Yes.

Where will I keep them?

They will stay round the house and not leave.  You'll be fine.

Ok.

So they turned up in a cardboard box late today.  The missus chicken is quiet as, but I can see the Rooster already popping in and out of the paddocks sussing out his territory.

They're only young though and both pure white, and super super cute.

And they are as I'm writing this, true to their word, just hanging round.

Liam will name them when he wakes up - it's currently 2.17am where he is.

****

10pm -  OMFG I've lost them.

****

6.17am - It's ok, I've found the rooster.

****

6.19am - checking the text from the young one:

Pat - the rooster and Chuck - the chicken
