Horse Sense....

Ok, so for the first time Mumma and I took a little walk outside her and Cappy's paddock, and I'm super proud of us.

Remember how she was when she first turned up, galloping up and down the paddocks like a little she-devil? It was fucking terrifying. Well, we're not at that place anymore, and haven't been for ages now.

Anyhou, moving right along, we're really starting to get a connection going on a Mumma - Tania basis, not just a Touch/play basis.  And yes, the two are different.  We're learning how to communicate, and successfully communicate.  Mumma knows when I'm trying really hard, and at other times I know when Mumma is trying really hard, and somehow we're finding our way.  We're slowly but surely, building the kind of relationship that I always thought we could have.

Little Boo is also awesome, but I swear, hand on hoof, that kid's going to come out running.  This afternoon Mumma and Caps were bucking and kicking and doing all sorts of fun horsey things, like hooning up and down the paddocks to see who was the best race horse, but in a good way, not the terrifying way.

Anyhou, Caps apparently, still has his game.

So conversations at home are going like this:

Me: Cappy, it's going to be a beautiful day, do you want your jacket off?

Cappy: No!  What's the matter with you? It's 4 degrees right now and that chill in the air...

Four hours later...

Cappy: Tarns! Tarns!  Need to have my jacket off, getting heatstroke, can't breathe...

And Mumma is kind of cool.

We do Touch/play, she tells me what she needs, wants or desires, and then goes and hangs out with Caps.

They come up to the house for snacks, then have a bit of a gallop and kick around (although Mumma must be getting close because she got tired quickly today) and then hang round, until it is putting-jacket-back-on and dinner time.

It's super freaking cool to be a part of.

So I bought some herby-mineral type stuff today, get home and as I am putting my finger in bag and licking, it tastes different.  That's both no good and a surprise, as I know what I bought.  I dip and lick again.  Oh no, definitely not what I thought I had bought.  Then I look at the packet and right there in teensy, tiny writing it says that.  They had changed the type of what they were selling.

OMFG.

To be fair, it technically has the same effect.

Unfortunately, reality wise it doesn't.  Not even fucking close.

You use it on different horses, for different things, in a different way, at different times of the year, seasons etc.

And this is what really fucks me off. This herby-mineral is going to start getting a really bad reputation.  Because people will use it the wrong way, on the wrong horse, in the wrong doseage, season and time and then say it doesn't work.  Which is not 100% accurate.  If you use it correctly it's fucking awesome, and something you need in your toy box.

It really upsets me that there is so little information out there for peeps, but also because peeps are not asking questions.  Not just not the right ones but none.

Don't just trust the person selling you shite.  Ask.  Then ask again.  And ask people that know what the fuck they're doing.  If you are asking someone what a herb-mineral-vitamin type thingy does and they look at the packet and start reading from it, turn around and walk the fuck out.

Don't buy it.

They don't know how it works.  This is not a one size fits all gig.

Actually, I am really disappointed in the herb industry at the moment.  The amount of times I'm going into a shop and they have put the price up $15, $20 and $25 from what it started at, is taking the piss.  So as I'm writing this, I am trying to source other options.

I truly hope though, that they are not doing a 500%+ mark up.   Although in one thing we found, it was way over a 1000% mark up.

Waaaaayyyyyyyyyy over.

Anyway, the horses and I are on a mission now.

For Mumma's and babies,  little off-the-track Thoroughbreds who love to snuggle and nap and snack, super cute Welsh's who are just adorable, race babies, jump babies, hunt babies, and of course, all the big ones as well, who want to share their knowledge of herbs and how they work, so that we get it right for them.

On a completely different note: the young one is still travelling around, and is smack bang in the middle of Trump country...wow...

****

And after saying Belle always comes to me when I see her, today her and Rubes were right down the back of their paddock and didn't wish to play.

I wa like, Uuuummmmm hello....

And the girls were like, Can't hear you, we're horses...

****

It works out the little ones were doing a growth spurt.  Went in this morning and their asses were up in the air.  They are soooooooooooo gorgeous.

****

And Nana and I think Mumma's carrying a boy.  She's running way too much and everything is different in this pregnancy.  I know a lot of that was change but even so, everything.

****

The Big E was hilarious today though, he went outside the gate and then, for reasons only he knew, refused to come back in.  He didn't run away, he just popped himself next to the goats 5 metres away, and refused to budge.

So I put both the hooks up on the hot fence and went back inside.

The Big E was happy...happy...happy...then, Wait...come back, let me back in...I  can't get in....the  fence is up...and it's hot...let me in...

So, that's been our week:  Spirit are sending me off to cyber-space to do stuff and find stuff, to make us stronger and better and more amazing, or we're just kicking back at home in the sunshine.

Either/or is awesome.

What you allow is what will continue.

Big hugs and horsey kisses from us here, to you there.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, the Big E, and of course, my beautiful Mumma Bear, Belle and Little Boo
