Horse Sense....

We're still in complete lock down here, so no photo's, video's or chit chats.

However, I have some questions for you:

1) I read in the Herald the other day that now is the time to be lax with your food.  Don't stress, eat what you want.  That in fact, counting calories was a Mental Health Issue, and should be avoided at all cost.

However, not counting calories and eating processed food and chips, chocolate and/or fizzy drinks etc, as you and I both know, makes you put on weight.

We also scientifically know that eating processed foods with numbers and words you can't pronounce, let alone know the meaning of, often have ingredients in which are hormone disrupters.  This means that you can't control your moods, how you are feeling, talking and thinking.  We also scientifically know that some processed foods have a form of MSG in them, which makes you constantly hungry.  Half an hour after you have eaten, you want to eat again.

So, my question is: If counting calories (so you don't over eat) is a Mental Health Issue, is Obesity (not counting calories, eating processed and junk food and getting fat) also a Mental Health Issue?

And if we know that food plays a big part in not just our physical well-being, but also keeps us in great mental health...

Why is our Government money not being spent immediately (right at this moment) on subsiding, or making it free, fresh fruit, vegatables, eggs, meat and milk?

* I just read in the Herald this morning, Sunday 12th April, that the Government is about to pass a law where synthetic Folic Acid is to be put in breads and most flours.

Now I don't know whether you know this or not but they tried to pass this law back in 2009.  It didn't get passed, which I am so unbelievably grateful for.

Let me tell you why:

Folic Acid in it's natural form is amazeballs.  It's fantastic for the fetus in the first 3 months because it stops fetal abnormalities.  In fact, the article today said that a possible 117 fetal abnormalities, over the last 10 years, might have been avoided if we had made having synthetic Folic Acid in bread and flour, a law.

However, that aside, Folic Acid in it's natural form is great.  It helps your body produce and maintain healthy cells.

You get natural Folic Acid from the Sun and green leafy vegetables.  You also can't overdose on it, because you just pee it out.

Technically, the synthetic kind does the same thing, but, and this is the issue, it actually builds up inside you because you are unable to pee out what you don't need.  This holding on of synthetic Folic Acid is directly linked to Prostate Cancer and depression.

Let me explain:

A fair few years ago now (almost 2 decades), Scientists started encouraging people to take winter vitamins.  As we did this though, we got a new depression called SAD - Seasonal Affected Disorder.  This roughly translates to you getting depressed because it's winter.

These new vitamins pills were then, and still are now, packed full of synthetic Folic Acid.

You can't pee out what you are not using.  Literally, you are over dosing your system, directly causing depressive symptoms.

But don't just trust me, go and check the back of your vitamin pill bottle right now.  It will say it has Folic Acid in it.

The synthetic kind.

For the last 16 years, I, and the people I've worked with, have also known that synthetic Folic Acid is directly linked to Prostate Cancer.

You also know, beyond mere speculation, you know by facts, that we have one of the highest rates of Prostate Cancer in the world.

And suicide.

But if you go back and look, it's only been in the last 15 years that there has been an expotential growth in Prostate Cancer in our men.

Actually, Prostrate Cancer only started rising in 2006.

2) Should the money being given out go to companies or directly to the people who have lost income?

The Warehouse was given $52 million.

Fletchers Building $66.32 million.  There was big controversy over this, as they gave staff a 12 week proposal whereby non-working staff would have their pay slashed by 70%.  Employees not working during the lock down would get an average of 80% of their base pay for the first weeks but reduced to 50% for the next month and 30% for weeks 9 to 12.

Downer NZ $38.2 million.

Fulton Hogan $34.2 million.

Spotless (provides varius operations facilities and management) $25.2 million.

K mart $12 million.

Noel Leemings $12 million.

Mediaworks (radio and tv) $7.8 million.

Rugby NZ $3.5 million.

Kathmandu $3.6 million.

Harvey Norman $12.7 million.

Trade me $4.5 million.

Junken (forestry) $3.7 million.

Oceana Gold (mines) $6.1 million.

McDonalds $6.8 million.

Restaurant brands which own KFC and Pizza Hut $21.8 million.

Debt collectors Debtworks $150,000.

Prime Debt Collections $49,320.

Destiny Church - This Church was the one that said God was punishing NZ for having gay people when we had the Christchurch Earthquake, 22 February, 2011.

They have received $60,436.

3) We've just had our 9th death in Nz over the virus.  Two were women in their 90's who already had age related health issues, 2 were men in their 70's, 3 were men in their 80's and 2 men in their 90's.  All had underlying health issues.  Condolences to their families.

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to know where one of the men contracted the virus due to privacy issues.

Whose privacy?

4) Why, when this virus is so contagious, are the supermarkets still allowed to be open, with fruit and vegetables able to be freely touched, played with and spittle possibly able to be landed on said items?

Why has it not been organised that only 1 or 2 people from the supermarket handle the fruit and vegetables, who then pass said item onto you?

5) We are being told that the NZ Government is testing 5000 people a day.  What day/week/month or any time over the last 120 days were you, any of your family, friends, co-workers and/or frenemies tested?

This is not a question but is seriously weird, so needs to come and play with us:

According to the New York Times, as of Sunday, 12th April, the latest death toll in America is 20,110.

However more than 40% of those who died have been black, despite making up only 13% of the population.

We here, love you there, and give you big horsey kisses and cuddles.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, The Big E, and of course, my beautiful Mares, Belle and Little Boo
