Horse Sense....

We are still in complete lock down here now in New Zealand, apart from essential businesses - which does include liquour stores, but does not include butchers and fresh fruit and vegetable shops.

The Government is also still encouraging people to dob in those that they think might be leaving their homes for any non-essential kind of business.  So far over 35,000 people have taken her up on this offer.

Directly because of this, I am unable to give you any photo's, updates or general chit chat on Mares, Belle and Little Boo.

This is also very bad news for surfers, beach walkers, people who swim every day, paddle boarders, jet skiers and boaties.  Not to mention those self-isolating on their boats, catching fresh fish, swimming and sunning.

There have also been nearly 500 people who have been caught breaching lock down laws. 367 warnings, 45 prosecutions, with all the rest being referred to CYPS (Children and Young Persons).

Our Health Minister, David Clark is not included in this number, however he was given a very stern talking to as to why the rest of the countries rules do apply to him and his family.

One would hope the naughty stick was also used.

On a positive note though, according to our statistics, our domestic violence episodes have not gone up, people have not actually been fired or put on notice, companies are not going out of business, CYPS cases have not expotentially increased, the buying of chips, chocolate and chocolate biscuits, processed food and fizzy drinks has not tripled, and last, but most certainly not least...

On all the tests that the Government tell us that they are doing, we have only had one death.

A 73 year old woman, who already had health issues.

Go us.

Condolences to her family.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, The Big E and of course, my beautiful Mares, Belle and Little Boo

Police have the right to do anything reasonably necessary, including the use of force, to compel, enforce, or ensure compliance of the lock down measures.

And...

They also have to the power to enter, remain and inspect any household or office that is suspected of housing an unsanctioned gathering or if they suspect there is a large gathering of people from different bubbles.
