Horse Sense....

I'm going for an August foal.

Just throwing my hat in the ring.

Well, to be fair, I can be good on times.  With Fen's I was spot on, almost to the day, however, Flash as we both know, I was 10 weeks out.

Life's all a bit of a gamble, eh?

I think Suz is freaking out she's going to be sold.

I know!  But she freaked out again on me last night and again is refusing to come out of the paddock, even when the gates open.  She's acting like Az used to.  Remember the whole Taupo fiasco when he saw me putting all the gear into the float and thought I was giving him away, so refused to get on the float?

Well, Suz is acting the same way.  She is super fabulous in every area which counts but is also (now I think about it) telling me in every way that she can that she does not want to leave.

That's cool, she's had a lot of homes and quite obviously some have been shite.  I'll have a chat with her tomorrow and tell her that she doesn't have to leave.

Races were good last night.  It never fails to amaze me that I am always in the right place at the right time.

I told you I was right.

I'm curious as to how things are going to pan out though, it looks like things are about to get interesting.

You know, I always bang on about Energy and frequencies and particularly how frequencies transcend space and time.  Well, it got proved to me again.

I do have to say though that it's always a breath of fresh air.  Although I did have a fair bit of explaining to do.

Then I get home and Az is nude.

He decided that he was tired of his jacket, had completely munted it (it literally was in 3 different pieces) and was hanging round au natural.

He can stay like that, I'm not buying him another jacket this season.

Thank you, Aria and Leeshelle who got all three different bits of jacket off him.

And I think (fingers crossed) that I have a new hot water hose downstairs.

Thanks Don.

I'll try it out on peeps tomorrow.

Yeah, that didn't happen.  I got busy, I got lazy, the little ones decided they just wanted to chill...you know, take your pick.

Well, well, well eh?

Mares baby Daddy first colt in NZ just got his first win in Omaru.  It is way, way too early to get excited though because there are a whole heap of colts and filly's that have NOT hit the track.  45 mares were served in 2016 resulting in 37 live births and 37 potential 2 year olds (3 year olds on August 1st).  And as I'm writing this, 2 out of this bunch have hit the track.  Those that have hit the track have done amazingly however, there is still 35 missing in action.  So, you know, still too early to get excited.

I lie, I'm super excited!

Oh c'mon, it's way better than 30 hitting the track and none placing.  It's kind of like, Everything or nothing.

Anyway, a big congratulation to Ken Barron, Trainer (and his stable peeps) and Driver, Blair Orange, for a great win today.  28th July, Omaru, Race 2.

I'm loving Blair, he won 5 races and 1 third today, out of 9 races.  That man can drive, baby.

Oh wait...I had a conversation last week about why I was following Mares baby Daddy so much and it goes like this:

I took a risk using an unknown stallion.  There was no way to know how many mares would take, or what his foals would be like.  So I will follow his ass like white on rice until I find out whether genetically I made a great choice or not.  Whether he's passed on his gene to run.

I also want to know what my competition is like.

I've stepped out with baby Mares in just about every way possible.  No rugs, no "proper" broodmare feed, my own herbs and vitamins, touch/play, playing music...  Not to mention the jigsaw puzzle beforehand to make sure that he was the right stallion for Mares - that their strengths and weaknesses fitted together.  Flying down to make sure his smell worked and on a daily basis, Riding the Energy.

So this constant foal checking in is important.  I need to know what every other foal is doing.

But you and I both know, that the chances of my methods being validated, if baby Mares is successful, are between slim to 0.  But that's outsiders for you.  They look from the outside in and say, She just got lucky.  However, you and I have walked this path together.  Daily, weekly, sometimes happy, sometimes not so much, we have had some good successes and have had some stunning faux pas.

You, me, Mares and baby Mares.

So I am excited about what the future holds for us, and I'm supper happy you were, and continue to be, with us.

Anyway, that's been our week:  It's been surprising and good and happy.  A couple of out of left field experiences but as I said earlier, Things are about to get interesting.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash, Gino (my superest super cutie) and of course, Mares and baby Mares.

Well, I know how Chew's getting out.

So there they all were hanging out down by the driveway, all happily munching away.  I know this because I consistently checked.  All three munchkins counted.  However, I went down to put them all away later and there they all were Ralph, Suz and wait...Chew was outside the fence.  Standing there, munching away, as if there was not one thing out of place and it is natural for him to be on the other side of the fence.

To be fair, it is not becoming not natural.

Anyway, I pretended I hadn't seen him the wrong side of the fence, called everyone to go back into paddock and Hello! Ralph, Suz and Chew all came running into their paddock.  Chew just got a bit of a run up and then did this sideways slide under the hot fence.

As much as I wanted to tell him off, it was impressive by anyone's standards.

And he did come home when called.

** I did spraying yesterday, first time ever.  Just between the cobblestones around the house but I did tell the horses, so everyone buggered off down to the other paddocks and left me to it.  I did wear a mask, but apparently I should have used glasses as well, because my eyes are all swollen today.

This shite can't be good for you.
