Horse Sense....

So Suz is kind of getting the hang of this relationship type thing.

She's communicating and talking openly, waits for me every morning (which is super cute), comes for snacks before brekkie and is generally getting her mojo on.

She also enjoys her walkies - or she did for the first couple of days.  Today she was like, Yeah, I don't think so.  Then tried to do the dodge on me!  So we had a little tussle about that, which pretty much went like this, The old ways are gone, baby.

We then walked down the road (or up, depending on which way you are standing) to see our friends along the road.  It was a fair hike and she was a rockstar doing it.  I can't say that she walked with me, but she did walk and it wasn't embarassing.

We got there, had a banana (or banana cake depending on whether you had 2 legs or 4), hung out with some humans, dogs, made friends with some horses and Suz thought that maybe she might be racing friends with one (travel in float so he doesn't get lonely), talked to Nana, had cuddles then walked home.

A highly succesful experience.

Chill out day for Suz tomorrow, she's worked really hard emotionally this week and needs a break.

****

The nightmares are back.

I'm tired, I go to bed, Boom! smack bang in the middle of a nightmare, wake up, go pee, go back to bed, fall asleep Boom! nightmare.  I can easily have 3 or 4 different nightmares in a night.

Every night.

To be fair, I know why I'm getting them and secondly, better out than in.

It seems to be the deeper I go with the horses, the deeper the healing that happens to me.  Somehow the two are walking hand in hand.

No stones needed this time which is brilliant, we're on the path home.

****

Great night at the races tonight.  Super fun.

Almost had an accident on the way home, some nong didn't look before he pulled in front of us.  We were able to swerve, disaster averted, and all horses and peeps fine.

Bloody dick.

****

So that's been our week:  There's been a huge amount of rain, wind, cold and mud but if you can overlook those little issues, it has been kind of fun.

We've also just worked hard here, no big Damn! That's amazing just head down, bum up, working.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash (best Mumma in the world), Gino (just the CUTEST super cutie in the world) and of course, my darling Mares and baby Mares.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It took 2 and a half days for Suz to come back into play mode.

First day and a half she refused to leave her paddock.  Second day she wandered round but refused to talk, but this morning she was waiting at the house, had snacks, ate breakfast, then wandered down the driveway to wait for her walk.

Nice.

** Not nice.  Fucked up on my timing.  When Suz was stepping forward, I was smack bang in the middle of doing something else so did not stop and take the invitation Suz offered.  So when I did want to move forward with Suz she was like, I don't want to... and we got a non-event.

Bugger.

I'll try again this afternoon.

*** Suz and I did get sorted this afternoon but it was a 1 step forward, 2 steps back kind of day.  I pulled everything back and went back to the time when we were both ok.  Slow steps are needed with Suz and I obviously went too fast last week.

That's ok, I'll do better.

**** Baby Mares is doing awesomeness.  Mumma Mares slathers herself (and him) in mud when it's cold to insulate him, and waits patiently for me to de-mud her (and him) when the sun shines so they can get all that gorgeous vitamin D.

Vitamin D plays a substantial role in the regulation of calcium and maintenance of phosphorus levels in the blood, two factors that are extremely important for maintaining healthy bones. Vitamin D is also needed to absorb calcium in the intestines and to reclaim calcium that would otherwise be excreted through the kidneys.

Vitamin D is also known as “the sunshine vitamin.” It is a crucial ingredient for overall health; protects against inflammation, lowers high blood pressure, helps muscles, improves brain function and may even protect against cancer.

So baby Mares is either snug as a bug in a mud bath happily cooking or snoozing in the sun.

***** Mares is losing her winter coat!  That's brilliant news because it tells me that the bad weather is mostly over.  We might get the odd bad day but not serious bad weather.  You have no idea how happy I am about this.

The horses are never wrong.

They hear the vibrations of the Earth change, then change with them.
