Horse Sense....

Interesting random fact number 963 - Natural deodorant works.  However, at a certain point in my cycle I crave dairy products.  All good, however, dairy is toxic to my body.  Periodically, I still eat them.  On the rare mornings after I have eaten dairy though, I wake up with the worst BO.

You're welcome.

I had one very pissed off Mares today.

First off, I was a teensy bit late on her feed, secondly, it was pissing down with rain and to top it off, the wind was cold which was making Mares cold.  This all combined to Mares being less than friendly when I eventually turned up.

Then we had to do some clever shifting around of herbs/vitamins/minerals.  Mostly because she needed different to what I had assumed yesterday, and then because she wanted hot and soft herbs not hot and hard.  Talk about being both bossy and pissed.

Anyway, got first feed done, mucked round with second and then the bloody bossy cow was like, Well, since you mucked everything up and I got cold, a little extra wouldn't go amiss.  To be fair, I do know that in bad weather she needs both a morning and night feed, not two lunchtime feeds, so should have changed my day around as soon as I got up.

My bad.

Anyway, by the time I left she was warm and happy, baby Mares was happy and Mares had even let me pat her, which was huge considering how we first started off.

Nice.

Mama Mares and baby Mares super delciously happy today.  Must have got the herbs right yesterday.

And it was racing tonight.  Damn it was cold!  No one's laughing now when I take two jackets though.  I was snug as a bug in a rug warm tonight.

Lots of people having a chat, although periodically I do think that maybe I should just think what I say...unfortunately, normally as I'm saying it.

To be fair, I've always been like this though, so it's not as if I'm suddenly jumping out and yelling Surprise!! at you.

But I blame this free falling totality and openness on the horses.  Because once you really start hanging round with them, everything is so open.  There's no sneaky ass Energy it's all, This is how I'm feeling...This is what I want....Can you do this?  And it's all nineteen to the dozen about how to get success.

I love their Energy so much, it's falling and being caught and it's a tribe.

An excellent night overall.

Well, that was super freaking annoying!

I used the wrong herb, at the wrong dosage, at the wrong time for myself yesterday and at 2.30 this morning had to go have an epsom salt and lavender bath because I was as awake, as if I had just had 8 hours of amazing sleep. Which I quite obviously hadn't, since I had been awake since 6am the previous day.

As much as it was totally annoying, it is mistakes like this which fine tunes how I work with herbs.

It makes me smarter, cleverer (I don't even know that that is a word) and more specialised.

On a super positive note, I feel amazing.  Just goes to prove why this is one of my most favorite herbs.

And on a funny note, I do not, for the life of me, understand why there is such a big hoo ha about horses and plastic bags and scaring horses half to death with plastic bags.  I mean, seriously, what's wrong with talking with your horse and getting a real partnership going.  Anyway, it's super funny here with the horses.  They hear the plastic bag rustling and they hoon it, and I mean, hoon it down the paddock, round the corner, up the hill and then come to a screeching halt at the fence where I'm waiting.

We're here.

And then wait for whatever deliciousness said plastic bag holds.

So that's been our week: Gentle(ish), (mostly) kind and (eventually) forgiving.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash (best Mumma in the world), Gino (cutest bull in the Universe) and of course, my darling Mares and baby Mares.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

And on a lighter note: Flash, who used to terrorize Caps with her horns to get feed, and would bellow at me at the top of her lungs to hurry up for feed, now has the hoof boot on the other side.

Since having Gino, she protects him constantly and there is no more horning the Caps or bellowing at me to hurry up, but rather she stands at the bottom where all the paddocks meet to see where I'm feeding out.  Separates herself from the horses then goes, Psssssst pssssssst...over here....
