Horse Sense....

This is Gino.

This is also the veal you are eating just before it gets to your plate.

It looks very much like Gino.

There is a reason for this, it could be.  Not, obviously, my Gino but this is what veal actually looks like.

Little bull calves - not girls, bulls.

Not big and hoary and weighing like a thousand dollars, but small, tender and juicy.

Stressfree.

It is also said that veal is six months old before it gets to your plate.  This, I have found out, is untrue.  Veal is any little bull calf, from 3 weeks old.

Gino - 3 weeks and 2 days old, as you are reading this.

Life's a bitch some days and ignorance is, unfortunately, bliss or as my old Nana used to say, Tania, sometimes once you see something, you can't un-see it.

How bloody true that worked out to be.

Oh wait, got some good news about Mares baby Daddy.

His first 2 year old to hit the track came 3rd today!!  Super happy and a very nice run.

Sunday 30th June, Timaru track, Number 4, Race 3.

I know, I know, one race does not make a marathon however, it's a bloody sight better than where we were standing last week.

Ooooohh wait...I just got the most fantastic text from my mate today (Monday, 1st July).

Your Mares baby Daddy had his first winner today in Australia.  1-56.3 at Newcastle.  2 year old.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who's started breathing again.

Life just got super fucking interesting.

But all jokes aside, my friends are awesome.  Because they know that I don't understand fully how to use the Horse Racing sites, am a little lost finding (and keeping track) of horses, workout trials and the South Island boys, I get random texts all the time.

My friends are super delicious fabulous, I'm so unbelievably lucky.

And we have just gone into Eclipse Season - and there are 3 in the next 6 weeks.  This is making the Energy extremely volatile, you will feel both more sensitive and more aggressive.  I know!  What a great combination.

Not.

Anyway, take the next few weeks with a grain of salt.

Love the great things which happen but accept with grace, any less than positive vibes.

Because Eclipses are made so you are able to fine tune your life.  To show you where you are getting it right, but also point out the holes where you are not.  But the biggest thing, is that Eclipses magnify both the positive and negative.

So don't get a big head, but also don't fall into the pits of despair.

Remember: Nothing is a done deal in Eclipse season.  There is early signs of success, but the proper groundwork must still be be done.

Be at peace and go into cruize control, baby.

So, that's been our week:  It's been a real stunner in some respects, but as much as there's been some positive outside validation, it's been the people closest around me, and my horses who just hang with me, who have given me the most joy.

However, in having said that, a little outside validation is always nice.

Wishing you much love my friends, and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash, Gino - the cutest little bull in the world, and of course, my darling Mares and baby Mares.

We're having computer issues here.  We think we've fixed the bugs but you know, we might not have.  Hopefully this turns up Thursday like it should, however, if it doesn't it should turn up by the weekend.

** Mares and I had an awesome chat today about her labour.  Chit chatting about times, who would be there, what would happen etc and she had a few questions that I could either answer or not.

She's happy in her pregnancy, super happy about her baby Daddy results but was a bit miffed that I thought she couldn't do a good job by herself.  I explained that it wasn't that I thought she couldn't just that she might need a little help, because baby Mares is big.  She felt better after that.

For the life of me, I just do not get how anyone can think horses can't talk.
