Horse Sense....

Now bloody Ralph is doing the dodge on me!

So, I bring Chew and Ralph up at night, tie Chew up by the deck with a huge lead to roam and leave Ralph off to wander because he never leaves Chew.

Which is now apparently untrue.

Because last night my lovely neighbours across and down the road, stopped, lead reined Ralph and brought him home last night!  Seriously, literally brought him home.  Then I checked my phone and my lovely TJ who doesn't even live in our street now, had texted me to say that she had got a text to say Ralph was out.  I told her that he was now home and she volunteered herself and her lovely partner to come over this weekend and fix my fence so they don't get out.

First we have to find where they might be getting out.  Technically the fence has no way to get out and it's hot.

Anyway, I love my neighbours.  Haven't found a bad one yet.

Had an awesome night at the races.  No surprises, well actually, that's not 100% accurate.  Two horses that were talking nineteen to the dozen, neither of them ours - one that's got some huge potential and just needs a little help, and one that has thrown it's back hip out a lot and needs some work done.

And one of those, Really? kind of surprises.

I mean, seriously, you don't need to be Psychic to see that this situation isn't going to end well.  But you know what they say, Not my monkey, not my circus.

Anyway, a last surprise when I got home.  First and foremost, I am always a Reader.  I'll see how that one pans out.

Ok, Flash refuses to move from the Welcome Paddock.

She's healing well, there's nothing wrong, just she's decided she wants to be there, and that's where she's staying.

Bloody stubborn cow.

Anyway, I opened up the lush grass paddock one over for her and then encouraged her to move, which she did, for an hour or so and then Hello! she's back in the Welcome Paddock with Fenny and Gino.  I ended up giving up and opened up the gate, and as I'm writing this Fenny, Flash and Gino are wandering round the house having a munch.  It won't do them any harm.

And another thing, Fenny never leaves Gino and Flash.

NEVER.

Where Flash is, Fenny is and Gino will be stuck in the middle.  It's most unusual to watch.  The little one is never alone.  Fenny's really stepped up to the plate.  They are a fully functioning, complete and happy, family unit.

And I have to say this: Flash and I have become kind of Kindred Spirits.

I don't know how this scientifically works, but Spiritually it goes like this:

Flash knows that I had my hand in her tummy, holding her intestines and pulling her little bull out.  Flash loves her little Gino.  Somehow we are now, inexplicitly tied.  I talk, she talks.  We hang out, or not.  Either way it's peaceful.

Something in the DNA has changed with us.

And back to deodorants.

A funny thing has been happening, I can't get my body temperature right.  So, I dress in layers and always have two coats with me.  Layers, so I can be freely happy when my temperature is high, a light jacket when my body temperature drops and a big, furry, padded jacket when I'm freezing.

I feel fine though, not too wet or too dry, not cry-ey or sad, my hair is in great nick and growing well, my skin is good and I literally can't complain,  so I'll just look at this as one of those things.

Deodorants:  I like the Green Goddess ones a lot.  I do like Created by Lori especially the Orange and Tea treee but I'm frustrated with all the brands being too hard.  I'm about to try the Dirty Hippie deodorants.  I've just today tried the Still Out No Funk Hippie Magnesium spray deodorant.  The Patchouli smell is quite strong but I do like that I can spray it on.  I'm also trying the Get Fruity, Dirty Hippie hard deodorant, just because I love the smell.

So, that's been our week: Right place, right time or something along those lines.  My timing has come down to precise seconds, and I have been exactly where I should have been at every given time.

I would like to say a super cool week, but it's been both experimental and experienced.

I can't explain it any better than that.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash, my gorgeous cutie pie, Gino, and of course my beautiful, Mares and baby Mares.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Can't use the Pachouli spray on deodorant.  It gives me a headache within a minute and is just too strong for me.

** Mares has taken to sniffing her food buckets before I put them in her feed bin.  99% of the time she is like, You've done well...

*** I haven't been able to eat any meat.  It's not that it makes my physically sick as such, but when Flash was all opened up, her insides looked exactly how you see steak at the supermarket or butchers.

Exactly.

**** And today was taking Mumma Flash's stitches out and de-balling and de-horning Gino.

So I started taking them up to the good place, thinking my fencing skills were better than they were.  To be fair, I did in all honesty try and put up a temporary fence.  It did look like a fence, however, the temporary part lasted about 6 seconds.  As long as it took Gino to scoot under and Mumma Flash to follow with Fenny coming up the rear, and head towards the road.

*sigh*

Thank Spirit I had texted Chris, my neighbour, to say I was bringing everyone up, because as soon as she got my text she belted down the hill to help.

Anyway, back up the hill to the yards, got so far and then Gino got scared of the goats and booted it back down the driveway, with Mumma Flash and Fenny galloping behind.

Everyone eventually back to where they should be.

I go out to feed Mares and baby Mares, come home and hot gate is up but hot fence-y part, down. Weird. But I thought that it was because Tui, Chris's hubby had tried to show me how to bring Mumma Flash and Fenny home easily.

Works out that was inaccurate.

Fenny had decided she wanted to come home, and because the fence up the top had not been turned on, Fenny, Flash and little Gino had all just gone back home.

Tui had then brought everyone back up to the yards ready for Vet.

Vet turned up and was super happy.  Mumma Flash is all de-stitched, Gino is de-balled and de-horned.  The first one was easy as, but I wasn't as keen on the second.  However, Gino can't keep his horns.

Then everyone just walked home.

***** And I'm checking any place, any where, any time for baby Mares, half brothers and sisters.  The two year olds should be racing by now but they're not, so that is a concern.  However, one has trialled and is a nice looking horse.  A second one should have trialled, but is yet to be seen.  The rest are not showing anywhere.

This is bad, this is very bad.

Actually, before I go any further, all horses in New Zealand have a Birthday on the 1st August where they turn a year older.  There are 31 registered 2 year olds, which means that there are 31 registered 2 year olds about to turn 3 year olds.  Horses should be at least trialling as 2 year olds and often racing.  None of baby Mares half brothers or sisters are.

Not one.

I'm not particularly happy about this, read into that seriously not happy but to be fair, no one has raised their baby Mares like me.

No one has jigsaw puzzled the strengths and weaknessness like I did, nor worked with the Clair-senses as I do, and no one has used herbs and touch/play like me.

I'm not being arrogant, but I didn't guess, and I haven't hoped.

I have used every sense and touch and taste and feel that I own, to make this a success.

I can also tell you the name of every registered half-brother and sister, 2 year old, related to baby Mares, in New Zealand. I actually have the list on my phone.

I know, I love me, too.
