Horse Sense....

It's been pretty full on with Gino and Mumma Flash, so not a huge amount of new stuff with Caps, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Mares and baby Mares.

However, there has been a fair amount of waiting around, so there has been a lot of conversations about herbs.

Now before I go any further, I will talk your ears off re the Clair-senses, herbs, running with Energy, playing with magic, talking with horses and/or any other form of how I play with horses.  Actually, I will speak to anyone, anywhere, any place, any time.

I also have to say that my way is not for everyone, but that will not stop me from talking about it at any given time.

I can also only talk with confidence of the horses I have personally worked with: either my own or other peoples in a fair few different fields, some high non-professional fields and some who are in the professional field.  But I have seen huge success working with the Clair-senses, herbs, riding the Energy and communicating with horses.  And it is with this success that I write about herbs today.

Back to where I was:

One conversation in particular was quite interesting, because once we got past the Is this Hocus Pocus? it was quite fun.  But then the question came up, What herb can you use for pain?  A quick anwser was given and then we moved onto other topics.

But it's been kind of bugging me and the reason for this is this, When you use herbs correctly, the horse overall is in great nick.  His or her condition is amazing, they are extremely healthy and their ability to heal themselves, if by some chance they do have an accident, is phenomenal.  Therefore, you very rarely need to use a herb as a sedative.

But this also brings me to some other questions/queries/issues re herbs that consistently come up:

Herbs don't work.

Don't  be stupid.  Herbs work particularly well.  However, you need to know how to Read your horse.

No, really, herbs don't work.

Don't be stupid.  Herbs work particurlarly well.  However, you need to get to grass root feed first.  I mean by this, you are most probably overdosing your horse on what you think is good things.  And they could all be good, but just too much, and all together, means that your horse is not getting the best and everything is over running each other.

Get back to grass roots then add:

1) One herb at a time.   And you use one so your horse can show you this herb is working.  On the off chance this is the wrong herb, it gives you a chance to get it right.

2) Two days on, one day off.  No herb is needed every day.  If it is, you're not doing it right.

3) Your horse will tell you.  Seriously, your horse wants you to get it right.  Trust me, he/she is really wanting you to get it right.  Listen to your horse.

Herbs take too long to work.

Ok, I can work with that one.  Yes, they sort of do.  It takes a while to get your human body in balance, and it is the same for your horse.  If it is a serious accident you are looking at 3 months.  Normally, with a horse with no serious trauma, a month to 6 weeks to get in balance, but you will see a difference within 2 weeks.

Do herbs work for every horse?

Yes.  If not one herb, then another one, or another dosage.

My Vet doesn't believe in herbs.

Actually, I challenge that one.  Most Vets want to work with a horse that's in great nick.  It makes their job so much easier and what everybody wants is success.  As quick as possible.

Can I use both medication and herbs?

There's not a lot of point.  Pick one or the other, otherwise no one's getting the chance to do it right for your horse.

Is this just herbs?

Well, I talk about Running with Energy, that's not just herbs but a whole way of being with your horse, but herbs are a big part of that.

What I can tell you though, is that you can tell when a horse uses herbs.  Their look is better, their Energy is higher, no not hotter, clearer and they don't get sick.  Also, and I don't know how this works, they work harder for you.  They do their absolute best for you.

Now, don't get me wrong, not every horse can be a Group 1 Winner or a top Show jumper or Barrel Racer because sometimes they just don't have it in them.  But what I promise you is that every horse that has their person feed them herbs (and no, not a one scoop a day from a one size fits all bag scenario), tries their hardest for their human.

They give you everything they have.

Oh wait, I almost forgot...

I've got too many horses to do herbs with.

Try not to be tapped with the stupid stick.

No! Wait!  This is why I have a reputation for being abrupt, rude and generally difficult...let me re-phrase:

1) Your horse(s) are healthier and overall not prone to colds and/or flu's - which means no (or very few) Vet visits.

2) If by some chance an accident happens, your horse(s) heal quicker.

3) Your horse(s) are clearer in their Energy, so you are able to work to their strengths a lot quicker, and train better.

4) Your horses work harder for you.

You're welcome.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash (now not preggers, thank fuck), her darling baby bull, Gino, and of course, my beautiful Mares and baby Mares

Loved races Friday.

** Still love talking with the horses although to be fair, often they're like, Seriously? Can't you do something...

Ummmmmmm, I'm doing my best, kiddo.

Let me give you a cuddle.

*** Everyone safe, happy and well at home this morning.  Got up, looked out my kitchen window and Fenny had jumped the fence, and was sitting waiting for me to put the fence down so she could come home.  Flash and Gino came down a few minutes later (ok, ok about 15 when I'd got myself organised) and then Chris and Tui (my neighbours from the good place) came and helped me turn them round so they headed back up driveway not down into road.

Gino is adorable.

*** Ooooohh almost forgot, using new organic and natural, Crafted by Lori, deodorant Orange and Tea tree (because I ran out of the other stuff) which I absolutely love and Dirty Hippie Tooth powder.

I'm loving them.

**** Remember to eat lots of food high in iron at the moment, because it's so cold.  Oysters are amazeballs for this. Try www.clevedonoysters.co.nz

The wild oysters taste of the ocean and the oyster soup is absolutely delicious.

***** For an awesome nights sleep put a few drops of pure essential Lavender Oil on the underside of your wrists, where you would normally put perfume.

You'll sleep with the Angels, baby.

****** And I ran into our lovely Vet Kara, today at the stables.  She had a look-see at Mares and baby Mares, and everything is looking amazing.  ETA is September 8th onwards.  Although to be fair, I'm expecting an arrival anytime from July 20th to November 1st.  One of my mates was joking round today and said, You better be hiding that foal if it comes in July...

Anyway, all jokes aside, I'm super happy, Mares is happy, baby Mares is super-duper-deliciously happy and Kara's happy.  We did have a quick chat today, where I said to Kara that I was now going into territory where I didn't know what I was doing.  Well, to be fair, I've done an awesome job doing the stuff I do well - The Clair-senses.

But the Energy's going to start getting busy, and lots of things are going to start happening over the coming months.  Things I know absolutely nothing about.

So it's not that we need a heirachy exactly, but we do need to know who calls what, where.  And at the time things are happening, is not the time to be finding out who has the final say or be wishy washy about shite.

******* OMFG I just got my Vet bill for Gino.  Breathe...breathe...

It's all good, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

We got one kick ass, mother of a f**king brilliant, end result.

******** Oh wait, almost forgot, cows that have a C section normally refuse to feed their calf afterwards, we don't know why.  Vet reckons it could be because they associate the pain with the calf.  Anyway, as soon as I had pulled little Gino out, I automatically slathered all the mucus, DNA type, sticky stuff from him over Flash's nose, face and mouth.

I can't prove that it made a difference, but I know that Flash, against the odds, fed Gino within 24 hours.

********* Bugger, I most probably need to mention this, too.  Apart from the medication for the C-section, ie: sedative, Flash had nothing else.  No medication, no painkillers, no antibiotics, nothing.

Bloody hope the Vet's not reading this.
