Horse Sense....

So Suz and I are doing really well.  Jacket's still on as I'm writing this but you know, the rest is quite phenomenal.

We play every day, and I am finally learning that when we have got a great end result, we stop.  That's hard for me because I want to go, Let's just do it once more... but I don't.

That's a huge achievement.

Secondly, Suz is talking.  Really talking.  I'd forgotten that she didn't speak.

Thirdly, she's so clever.  She knows that I'm not hurting, nor trying to hurt her.  So, what I'm learning from her is how to play the Energy like an instrument.  That's cool.

Suz is also begrudgingly complimentary.

I, on the other hand, compliment Suz generously.

The interesting thing is that Suz doesn't shake or get weird, which is what you would expect if she's not letting me catch her to take off her jacket, yet that is not happening.

We dance.

This thing that we do is, and has, far exceeded my expectations (as long as you don't count the jacket).

Mares is happy.  Very muddy, but tends to stand there in the sun eating and getting brushed quite happily.  When I start annoying her, she starts mushing her tail round and failing that, she starts growling me.

Overall, we're ok though.

Baby Mares is a bloody rockstar, and I can't wait to meet him.

On a funny note: You know how we were trying to collect Mares urine the other day?  Well, I was with her today and the next minute she looks up at me, then walks over to her special place and then turns around.  So there she is, standing there, looking at me, then starts to pee.

knew she knew what I wanted!

And I doubly knew that I had the right patch of grass.

Do not, I repeat, Do Not let me bake cookies, brownies, loaves or cakes in late afternoon/night.  Baking is to be done only first thing in the morning and then taken, straight out of the oven, to Nana's to have cuppa and breakfast (of said cookies, brownies, loaves or cake).

Suz (jacket still half on) is really liking this Energy lark.  We've got some super funky moves happening and overall I'm really happy.  Today Suz was like, You're doing ok... However, I couldn't do as long as normal, wrong time of my cycle, so we did a bit of play and then I stopped it.  Suz was like, Hey, where are you going, come back...

And finally back racing tonight.  I love being round the horses, they always have something to talk with me about.  But the people were good as well tonight.  A few surprises, but then again, Spirit put me in the right place at the right time, so things kind of happened.  You know, 25 years I've worked directly with, and for, people and I still find there is no rhyme nor reason as to how people act.  There's always a wild card.

Anyway, it was a super fabulous night.

I had the unexpected pleasure of talking to a horse this morning.  He was a little worse for wear but it went like this, Tania, you are not going to believe this!  First this happened...then that happened....then I was here...and look...

If there is a deeper pleasure in life for me than this, I haven't found it.

Suz and I finally got it.

It was my eyes.

For the last few days we've been doing amazingly.  Our Energy was brilliant and our dance was beautiful.  But we kept getting stuck.  Suz obviously wanted a relationship with me and I wanted a relationship with her but we couldn't find our bridge.

So, I went looking through my books to see what I was doing wrong.  And it was my eyes.

I went in this morning, sat down with the feed bucket and within a minute Suz was over having a munch from my hand.  I left, went and saw Mares and baby Mares, came home and then sat with Suz again and within minutes, I had stroked her and slipped my fingers into her halter and Boom, baby!

Led her up to the house, took off the other half of her jacket, gave her a brush, put on her new jacket, took her back to the paddock, let her off immediately, went and got some food, sat down and she was back within a minute, having a munch with me.

As I'm writing this, Suz is hanging round the house all happily rugged up.

So, that's been our week:  It's been super busy but a huge amount of fun.  I have ended up exactly where I should have been, doing exactly what Spirit had planned.

It has been, and continues to be, a totally unexpected and quite stunning week.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Fenny, Flash (who we absolutely know is pregnant and is still refusing to give birth) and of course, my beautiful Mares and baby Mares.

Even Spirit are on my case about food at the moment.  I was visiting friends today having a very healthy lunch, and the next minute my friend goes, I don't suppose you have any chocolate...

Fuck.

And went out to my car to get some chocolate.

To be fair, I guess I shouldn't have bought two large blocks today.

** And on a funny note, remember when we kept getting asked to go on tv and I kept saying, No.  Well, Ralph and Chew are on tv in about 3 weeks.  My mate is on tv and they asked her if she had any mini's she could bring.

Ralph and Chew are excited.

Chew particularly so...

Did I mention it's live tv?
