Horse Sense....

I would like to say this week calmed down, but it did not.  However, I am not complaining, but I am doing a quick prayer every night that tomorrow morning Fenny will let Blue Rose feed.

As I am writing this, this prayer has not been answered.

However, they hang round together, Blue's bum is clean which means that Fenny is cleaning her and Blue is looking in good nick.  We finally got hard tonight and went, We're not going to tie you up tonight, you guys are going to have to sort this out.  And we've left them.  Fenny will be so sore if she doesn't let Blue feed and Blue will drive her nuts because she'll be hungry and Fenny's the only way she can get fed.

Fingers crossed.

I'm putting more vid's up of Mares.  They're kind of working and kind of not.  They're working because if you look, you can see.  However, I can only do 59 second vid's on Insta which means that I have to split the vids and you miss the dance.  You miss that beautiful syncronicity that starts happening.  However, you see some of it and some is better than nothing in this case.  I've also decided to just give one 59 second vid - I'll pick one part of our night and put it up for you.  For a few hours.

59 seconds of Touch/play.

My horses at home are all cool.  Caps and Az say Hi! although to be fair, Az my beautiful white/grey Welsh is now my beautiful dirty brown Welsh.

Let's just say he loves mud and leave it at that.

It is 2 and a half weeks and counting with Fenny and Blue.  We decided to make Fenny's bag get really tight and force her to feed.  Didn't really work.  She got tight, she started leaking milk and still wouldn't let her feed without a halter.

Eventually, I haltered but didn't tie up her leg.  Blue fed, got a few kicks but overall it was more sucessful than all the other days.

I did some more vid's today of Mares and my Touch/play.  I'm happier with these ones.  I really only wanted to do one vid but in the end got two.  They're only super short and I still delete them after a few hours/overnight but you know, you can start to see how important Touch/play is. How much of a difference it makes to your horse and how your horse communicates with you.

I still don't lead Mares out back to the stables because yes, she can be a bit jumpy, and while my anxiety is still there, that's not helpful to us.  I'm just shelving that for the time being because a) I don't know how to get around this and b) we are doing really great in other areas so I'm just going to treat myself the same way that I would treat a great friend.

Be kind and celebrate the things that we're doing well.

I did a crystal shift and general cleansing and clearing today.  It was powerful and empowering.

Almost forgot, went to races Friday and trials Saturday.  Both were really good, Friday night was cool, the horses were awesome but let's face it, there is nothing better than talking with a horse.  And Saturday I was with some of my favourite horses who love chatting away to me.  One of them's a real dude and always has a joke or two for me.

So that's been our week: I love each day that I live.  It's crazy and chaotic and unbelieveably busy with bucketloads and bucketloads and bucketloads of Spirit, Clair-senses and horses.

And totally cool humans.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suz, Peanut, Fenny, Blue, Flash + 1 and of course, my darling Mares and baby Mares.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I had the best nights sleep EVER.

** Fenny and Blue Rose are still not voluntarily feeding from each other.  It's doing everyone's head in.

That bloody cow is tight and dripping and sore and still she is, Nope...

I halter.

Again.

*** I made some Kanuka Balm today.  As you remember Kanuka Balm is the female viagra.  It brings women into season.  And as we know, when women are in season they are all mushy and cuddle like.  Well, Fenny needs to be feeling like this so I decided to give it a go.  You need to use it three times.  Lunch, dinner and breakfast if you need it. I have always known it to work particularly well.  Cross bloody fingers and hooves.

**** Peanut has now decided that if I can go up the neighbours driveway, then he too can take a wander over the line and have a munch.

No...

***** And I'm starting to love these little video's.  You only see like 59 seconds of between 8 to 15 minutes of the play we do, but in short bursts I am showing you how important that horse/human connection is.  How we communicate.  How that connection makes us strong.

****** And I'm talking to a mate about my Kanuka Balm and he goes, You know that (I kind of tuned out here because he started spouting some scientific stuff) but roughly translated meant that I couldn't claim anything good that came out of my Kanuka Balm.

Really?  20+ bloody days and I just got lucky again?

I want to make a complaint to management.

******* And we've got a result but one that I didn't anticipate.

And all because I didn't check my phone.

Now, I have to say this here, when I'm busy, and we're crazy busy at the moment, I just glance at my phone and get the general gist of what is being said.  Which is why you keep it real simple, Coming over in 30, Come over for coffee, I like you, I want to cook you dinner... but anyway, I read a text from my good mate, Aria and thought it said, Lucy calved last night, if Blue is not feeding then we'll come over tomorrow morning, pick her up and take her home.  I translated it to, Oh good, we've got a new plan A if Kanuka Balm doesn't work.  After I go up tomorrow morning to see Fens and Blue, I'll go and see Aria and have a chat.

Then forgot all about it.

But wait, then I got up this morning, had urgent work that needed to be done before I started my day, so turned on my phone, put it on charge but didn't check it like I normally do, then got on with working.

An hour and a half later as I was just finishing, I heard my phone ring.  I answered it and then all these messages started bombarding me, We're coming down, Are you home? You going to answer your phone?  Are you awake?  Here...

And I had missed every single one of them.  Geoff and Aria had come down, hogtied Blue, put her on the back of the ute and hauled her back to their home, then put Blue on Lucy and she suckled immediately.

I went up immediately, saw Fenny, then went down and saw Aria and Geoff and then we all came back and moved Fenny home.

I have been so unbelievably lucky with everyone around me (Chris, Tui, Aria and Geoff) and their support, and we (Fenny, Blue and me) ultimately only got a brilliant end result directly because of them, and their constant and unwavering support.

I must have been really, really good in a previous life.
