Horse Sense....

So, it's been a bit busy here...

First off, I am not a fan of Mares new feed and the reason for this is, I hate the way it smells.  I thought maybe I could have been a bit, I didn't think of it so therefore I don't like it so gave it the benefit of the doubt.  Then I thought maybe I was hormonal but no, I just can't stand the smell.  It literally turns my stomach.  So I will be changing it in the next few days.  There has been valid reasons why I was asked to change her food, and that has to be taken into account, but I've been a Reader since before I even knew what a Reader was and I'm not going to discount that.

Smell is a huge thing for me and I would never eat a food, no matter how good someone told me it was, if I felt like this, nor would I feed it to my son or my horses at home.  And I've walked away from dating guys because I didn't like the way they smelt.  Not your Ewwww body odour kind of thing but rather, The soul of him smells bad.  I literally feel my womb retract.

And being round the horses has only increased this ability.  So, I've been tossing ideas round about why this food is not working, but the closest I can come to is this stuff works from the outside in rather from the inside out.  Like buying conditioner from the hairdressers and the conditioner puts a cover over your hair which makes it shine but doesn't actually give condition.  That's the closest thing I can come to.  Yet Mares ingests it, so therefore it has to be working from the inside out.  But it's not.

However, Mares looks good and she certainly is more calmer, chilled and relaxed.

I'll have to shelve the why for the time being which is a bit of a bummer, because I really like to know that bit but you know, it'll all come out in the wash.

But the Energy's wrong.  It looks right but it feels wrong.

When you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras.

And the bull with his girls is currently, as I am writing this, outside roaming the house.

We are a little short of grass in the paddocks and both girls are preggers so they need grass.  My friends up the road have offered to take the girls however, they won't take the bull and everyone's a bit worried about how Buzzy baby might react to being separated from his girls.

Not well, is the general consensus.

However, I have heaps of grass around the house so I was like, Well, no grass in the paddocks, lots of grass round the house.  It worked ok the last time.... fingers crossed, wish us luck.

However, on a funny note, my neighbour must have seen me take the bull out, gone, Oh Jeez... got in his car, came down the driveway and in his lovely, no drama way, made sure that the electric fence down the driveway and across the gate was hot so no one could get out.

He's a real sweetie.

On another funny note, I was at one of my outside horses this morning and one of my horses was having a chat, and it went like this, Tarns! That's not how it happened!  He's being a w*nker...

I know, baby, let me give you a cuddle.

And I'm standing here this morning, happy as a little new born chick.

Buzz and the girls behaved beautifully last night.  Nothing happened apart from Buzzy baby turning over the recycle bin, which just had old feed wrappers in it. Him and the girls behaved like angels and went back into the paddock like my horses.

No galloping, no bucking and/or kicking and no scaring Tarns half to death.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT tell the young one.

Was chatting away to Mr B about Buzzy baby today and to say he wasn't happy was an understatement.  The words, stupid, dumbass, dangerous and sell immediately were bandied about.

Well, ok then.

And Mares is back on original food.  I just can't go against everything I know.  And the smell is wrong.

That's the funny thing with Spirit, you can't go I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe... and then go, Wait, it's a bit hard right now...

Anyway, I love listening to Energy.

I'm good at it.

And Mares loves to talk.

That's a brilliant basis for us to start from.

I changed Mares food back yesterday afternoon and Hello! she's bouncing round the paddock again today, chatting away (having a whinge because I'm late) and I'm super happy.  Yes, it was good her being more relaxed and laid back and there's a good chance I could have led her, but...

When you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras.

And I have to mention this because it was beautiful being part of...

So, I'm trying to feed everyone in different paddocks so no one eats anyone else's food, and it's sort of working.  The gates are all open so you know, everyone runs round however, overall it works.  Anyway, I went to get Buzz's and the girls feed bowl and it was in the paddock just out of my reach.  Naturally.  So, I had to go through another paddock, down, through the gate and then up to get bucket. Caps was down by the gate waiting for me.  He realized what I was doing and walked on my right side, next to me, right up to the bull and then just stood there while I did my thing.

You know, there are moments that are so in complete balance that they take my breath away.

So, that's been our week: Spirit, Spirit, Spirit, more Spirit and the odd tap with the stupid stick.  But mostly Spirit.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suzie Q, Peanut, Hugh Hefner and the Playgirl bunnies and of course, my darling Mares +1.

You know I've been thinking about this smell thing.  How come I can use a herb which smells not nice (think Chaste tree) or Chinese herbs (which smell and taste disgusting) and I'm ok with it, yet I can smell a feed from a bag and I'm not?

Well, it goes like this...I know that some herbs are supposed to smell like that, that that's their smell.  However, in the feed from the bag they say they're using vitamins and minerals but they do not say they are using herbs, which is something a company will always say because it's a good thing.

So what, or should I say from where is the bad smell coming from?
