Horse Sense....

I had the oddest conversation today and it went like this...

I had the most beautiful horse, then he started having these weird symptoms, then got sick and in the end I had to put him down.  Now my new horse is showing the same symptoms, what should I do?

Almost the exact opposite of what you did the first time.

Sometimes, I think I'm not very good with people.

I took some time to go to my Spiritual pools today.  It is so important now I'm dealing with multiple horses to make sure that I look after myself and my Clair-senses.  I'm normally pretty good because I've worked so long Reading for people, and just going from one person to the next, so overall, I've got it sorted.  However, it's a bit different working with horses.  Mostly because the way we communicate is more intense.  There's no ego.  We just go into the Stillness and talk.  Which means I have to be kinder to myself.  Listen when the Energy changes and immediately change with it.  So, when Spirit said today, Time to come down to the pools I went.  Best thing EVER.

And Suzie Q is adorable.

I bought her a new yellow feed bucket (because she's a girl) and she loves it.  We're touching a lot but our turning point was when I realized how highly intelligent she is and how hard she works to do what I want, when we're shifting paddocks and stuff.  Suzie also now understands how hard I'm working for her, too. We finally got it.

And Caps is being a naughty little TB right now.  He eats his breakfast then wanders over to the calves, leans over the fence and then starts eating their food.  I tried talking with him about it but he was like, I'm a horse, Tania.  I can't hear you.

The races were good tonight, but to be honest I always have fun.  And it works out I can unclip and (some) unbuckle after the race although cannot shower after race nor clip and buckle before race.  However, mucho proud of myself, as a vast improvement after last weeks efforts.

Got to head to bed, trials and yearling parade tomorrow.

The parade was great.  Ours looked beautiful and behaved like angels.

I am so unbelievably pleased that I took time out for my Spiritual pools though.  I heard the Energy change and I changed with it, and I'm lucky I did.  The Full Moon/Eclipse was intense and I wobbled, but I didn't wobble, teeter and fall.

Ride with the Energy, baby, don't try and confine it.

And what is Rule Number 1, in the middle of winter?

When it is sunny Do THINGS FIRST with the horses NOT muck around enjoying the sun.

Hence, I'm writing this, soaking bl**dy wet, with thunder and lightning outside and Mary waiting to be fed.

Stupid, stupid girl.

On a positive note, I am right, I have 15 minutes from the exact minute I hear thunder before it is p*ssing down with rain.

On a less than positive note though, I tried to clean Caps hoof today and he was like, Oh no you don't, missy.  My hooves are fine.  This, quite obviously is not true, as I have been a little naughty and haven't had the farrier round for ages.  Mostly because I didn't think that he needed it and now, unfortunately everyone does.  Immediately.  However, I didn't just not get the farrier, I spoke to other professional horse people who took shoes off and it works out nobody trims every few weeks, it's all at least a few months plus.  Actually, anywhere between 10 weeks to five months.

So, I kept leaving it.

And on another point, I'm on the hunt for a new farrier.  Nothing wrong with the old one, he's just gone into training horses.  I wish him and his family the best of luck.

Suzie Q had her first rope on today!

Chew walked into a little stall and Suzie Q followed so Bam! I shut the door and there we were.  We  spent time just connecting in as she was shaking to start with.  She was really scared, as bad things had happened to her in her previous life when she had had a halter on, but calmed down pretty quick because Chew just stood there and hung out.  He was just one chilled enchilada.

So we just had the rope on loosely, and stood there touching.  In the end, we had, if not actual Yippee-kai-aye fun, then a successful end result.  When I took the rope off and opened the door she was like,  Wait...that's it?  We're done?  I went and got some more baleage for everyone and everyone seemed happy, cool and chilled out.

Including Suzie.

So, that's been our week:  High Energy, lots of Spirit and some super cool, totally random moments.

Wishing you much love my friends, and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suzie Q, Buzz-the-bl**dy-Bull, Fenny (the cutest cow-ette in the world) and Flash (a close second)

Caps is such a puss some days.  I went to take his jacket off and give him a brush and stuff and he was like, No thank you... and moved away!  I was like, Come back here, what are you doing?  But when we finally got organised and had a chat he was like, I don't want my jacket off...there's a bit of a breeze.

Bl**dy.  Great.  Puss.

** And Buzzy baby and the calf-ettes are on hard feed again.  We're short on grass and even though everyone (horses, bull and calf-ettes) gets baleage twice a day, I want to keep condition up, hence the hard.  Everyone is very, very happy.

Well, Buzz and the girls are happy.

The horses are sulking, they love calf food.
