Horse Sense....

I was back grooming the little one today.

First Mama and then him.

And there he was, Whatcha doing?  as he's popping his head over, under and round.

Grooming.  Want some?

And then we spent a very cool time Yes, I do...No,no, I've changed my mind...Wait! come back...

But Mama was brilliant.  She loved having a groom, mane, tail, brushes x2 so eventually, he wanted to as well.  But I have to say, he loves his a**.  First it's like, Touch me here and then there he is throwing his weight round, Tarn, Tarn, touch me here another move round and again it's, Tarn, Tarn, touch me here...

I love that he communicates.

And Missy is also communicating.  But to tell me that she's going into season.  I appreciate the forewarning.

I knew I'd seen a bl**dy stoat the other month!! There was a little kerfuffle this morning which started with moi having 16 little chicks and then having none.  No, no moi did not kill any but rather I was having them gifted to me.  Then, after having a conversation with neighbour who had had a stoat visit the night before and it had killed 3 chickens, not.

Moi's gift of chicks was reversed.

Unfortunately, I can understand that.

I'm really happy, Missy's doing excellent.  The bond we have built is strong and I'm seeing it work at the times that it needs to.  When she might go stressy, she is not and we are finding that we can rustle up some peace when technically peace is not in big abundance.  And because of that we are starting to see results when they matter.  Too early to throw out the, Rah Rah parade but enough for me (and Missy) to see that we are on the right path.  Enough for me to start to breathe again.

Everyone else is happy.  Caps very much, as he gets both a jacket off during the day and on during the night.  Bl**dy princess.  I swear, I'm going to be able to do it with my eyes closed soon though.

Az and I are coming along really well.  No photo's or vid because I'm normally by myself and our Energy is compressed which means that every bit of Energy I have is foccussed on Azzy baby.   However, we're doing well.  My biggest issue is not going too fast.  I still find that challenging.  To just celebrate our success and leave everything else the f*k alone.  To sit in the moment and enjoy the Stillness.

It's a work in progress.

Well, I can cross Running with the bulls in Pamploma off my bucket list, because we've had an exciting afternoon here.

First off, I was working with the mini's.  Suzie Q has to lose some weight so I put the little ones in the arena after Az and I had worked first thing this morning, as it has very little grass.  All good.

Went and sat in there and chilled out with them in the afternoon and Chew was all good and snuggly and Ralph was all good and snuggly and Miss Suzie Q was wanting to participate.  Again.  All goods.

Worked with Chew around grooming and walking up stairs etc while Suzie Q watched then I put him back into normal paddock with Caps and Az.  Then worked with Ralph who is loving being inside.  He's listening and stop/starting on command which I'm super proud of.  No photo's as when we're working I just don't have the space with our Energy that we work with to both be with Ralph and tape as well.  But it was all good.  He's super happy.

So, that left Suzie and it was going well.  She's coming close, letting me touch her and generally stepping forward.  Then I see Buzz-the-Bl**dy- Bull, Fenny and Flash hanging around.  I had put them in the other paddock but someone (not looking at any bull in particular) keeps flicking the latch and going into the next paddock.  I'm all good with that because they are finally eating the grass that I want.  So, it's ok.

So, there I am sitting on the mounting block like I have been all afternoon and Buzz-the-Bl**dy-Bull comes over for a bit of a scratch.  Now, bear in mind that the young one said to me before he left that he loves being scratched above his horns.  And behind his ears.  So, I'm sitting there scratching the bull.  No problemo.  A little scratch here, a little scratch there, a little ear massage...but then I realize that he's pushing me a bit, so I nudge him back.  So, he nudges back harder.  I'm nudging harder back but it's not really working because well a) I'm sitting down and b) he's way, way stronger than I am.

I get up and decide that enough is enough and he's going back in paddock.

And herein lies the problem.

Now, he's playing with me and he ain't moving.  Unless you count moving back then forward and trying to prick me with his horns, moving.  So, then he really, really needs to go into the paddock and he now really, really wants to play.  So, he's stepping back before he's doing a little charge forward, head down, horns up.  By now I'm like, Ummmmm...I don't like this game.  Which is a little like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.  So, then I opened the paddock gate they were supposed to be in and started Shoo-ing them in.

But Buzz-the-Bl**dy-Bull was having none of it.  Step forward, step back, head down, rush forward, Tarn dodging horns.  Fenny and Flash were just watching and the Divine Miss Suzie Q had pi**ed off to the other end of the arena.

It took nearly 25 minutes to get him into the paddock (as well as Fenny and Flash) and all of it was spent with me jumping over or behind gates, fences and this big concrete type thing next to fence.  Buzz-the Bl**dy-Bull had the best fun.  Moi not at all.  It took ages for my heart rate to go down to normal and Suzie Q just sat and chatted until I had calmed down.

And then I had a mate turn up unexpectedly.

Thank f*k.

Moved horses into welcome paddock, and then Buzz-the-Bl**dy-Bull, who is now as I'm writing this, moved 5 paddocks down and is now living by himself and that is where he will stay until the young one organises him.

He scared me half to death today and I don't like being scared, so it's the end of this love affair, baby.

So, that's been our week, take what you need, leave the rest.

Wishing you much love my friends, and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Az, Ralph, Chew, Suzie Q, Buzz-the-Bl**dy-Bull (to be forever renamed Sir Loin), Fenny and Flash

And I get up this morning and Hello! Caps and Ralph (Ralph, I am soooooo disappointed in you!) have somehow flicked the latch and are in paddock with Buzz eating grass!  I know!! And then they couldn't get back.  So, they were like, Tania...Tania...

Talk to the hand, babies.
