Horse Sense....

Ok, so at night when I bring Sequoia and Caps up from the bottom to their night time paddock I try not to use the halter.

Well, seriously, Caps most certainly doesn't need one and Sequoia shouldn't.

So, there we were tonight walking up and Sequoias just got a rope just looped over her neck and Caps is quite a way behind.  The cute thing is that Caps is way back watching us.  Actually, me.  Watching me to see if I am using my Energy properly.  And I was doing well most of the way up and then Missy stopped.

Just stopped and did her, I can't hear you.  I'm a horse.

She's a bloody cow some days.  She hears me perfectly.

Anyway, there we were stopped, just standing there.  I was trying to move her forward with my Energy but she was like, Can't hear you. Horse.

So, we just stood there.

Caps is just standing there looking at us and then I swear, hand on heart, Caps sighed.  He was like, Tania, watch...it goes like this... and then moved Sequoia up with his Energy.

Moves her to exactly where she should be then he just stands there and looks at me with his big brown eyes.

Well, ok then.

We had the bestest fun today!  It was Little peeps day and we played a new game, Name and Shame.

Well, it works out that somtimes if you are a little different people are mean.  So, we packed on our gumboots and kicked the sh*te out of the poo in the paddocks.  It was freaking awesome and we had the best fun.  Me thinks Name and Shame is going to be a regular part of our time together.

In having said that we also tried reading to the mini's last week which wasn't so cool.  I had heard amazing things about doing this but it was not the best fit for us.  It wasn't peaceful for the mini's and my little peep got bored.  I'm keeping that option open though.  I love reading and can often be found parked up reading a book so I can see how it might work for little peeps and the mini's.

I will re-look at this again in a different environment, day or moon Energy.

But today my little person picked the horse who he wanted a horsehair bracelet made from.  I know!  How freaking cool!  Well, it works out that one of my girl friends is a professional jeweller and I've seen these bracelets before and went, How cool would that be?  So, my little person and I went round the horses and talked about all their different qualities and characteristics that they own.

Because remember, this wasn't just pick a random horse.

We go and see every horse, every week, have a pat and a chat and a carrot before we go and do whatever we're doing that day.  We have a friendship with all the horses.

So, my little peeps chose Ralph because he is a stallion, not afraid of anyone, really friendly and extremely confident.  Then chose Caps because he is the boss.  But the boss in a good way.  In a kind and respectful way but he has authority.

Then we washed Ralphs tail to make sure it was clean and that was fun.  Ralph especially appreciated that it was only his tail getting a wash.  Then while we were waiting for the conditioner to take we went over to Caps.  My little peeps respectfully asked for some tail hair, said why and for what reason and then Caps was fed carrots while moi hauled her ass over fence with sissors and snipped a fairly long piece of tail off.  Feeling around to make sure I didn't get any bits I shouldn't.

Boom, baby.  Tail sniped.

Caps was not as happy as he might have been though.

Kept moving and then when I was like, All done! and showed him he was like, WTF?!  Is that part of my tail?!

He's a bit precious some days.   I explained to him that he was fine but he kept checking his tail and glaring at me.

Ralph on the other hand kept waving his tail in our faces and was like, Have you got enough?  Would you like some more?

But anyway, eventually there we were.  Tail hair all ready.  My little peeps was interested in Sequoia's too but I gently explained that unless she came over, turned around and physically put her tail in our hands then that was a, No.

Tail hair winging it's way to Lousie for plaiting and weaving to be made into a bracelet as I'm writing this.

And now the ducks are sulking and refuse to come up anywhere near the house.  It's like they went, Wait! She's revoked the invite. Back the duck away...

Too bloody right.  Being in our house is a luxury not a right for every Tom, Dick and wayward Harriet.

No respect for us and our boundaries = no house.

Caps has now found a place where he can watch me in the kitchen.  I know!  How uber cool is that?

Picture actually taken from my kitchen window this morning. The white you see is Miss Hefalump, having a snooze.

Caps wanders from paddock to paddock checking on me, the people who are here and generally just keeps an eye on me while Missy is like, She's fine.

Photo taken from my kitchen.  That's how close Caps and Sequoia are to our human house.

Photo taken from my bedroom.  Actually, I'm lying in bed snapping this.  It's 5.52am.

The young one absolutely refused to have his photo taken this week but everytime I saw him he was either in the paddocks or I came home from shopping (food, naturally) and he was like, While you were out I went and sat in the paddock with the horses and then there was the run down on who likes being patted where, who was friendly, who was feeling a bit muppety (Sequoia - she makes you work for her affections and is very Meh! until she deems you worthy) or who talked the most.  Or there was a text, It's very hot, I took the mini covers off or he's in the kitchen again, cutting up carrots with a telling off to me and a suspicious look as if he doesn't quite trust my "Looking after horses" ability and a stern, The horses look hungry.

Horses are loving having him home.

Feeding time with the young one with carrots.

Waiting patiently...

Sequoia hanging out - would like to say, Coming up to say Hi! but wait...no, she's got her nose stuck in our garden, trying to eat my corn.

Actually, Missy is not too happy with me right now.  Chris my neighbour from the other side popped over and hotted the temporary fence that I had put up on one side to stop Missy falling into a big hole.  The temporary didn't work because every morning fence would be down and she would be standing next to great big hole, looking at me with her big brown eyes, Fence is down.

So, Chris came over, hotted it up and Hello! no mares standing next to holes anymore.

High Five! to the Psychic.

And Chris. For doing the actual hotting.

And we've got rid of ducks in the house but now we have birds.  I know!  This is seriously odd.  The young one came out to the sitting room today and was like, Why is there a bird in my room?  They're in his room, my room, kitchen, living room, dinning room... although these ones only visit one at a time and don't seem to get stuck like the ducks. They just kind of hang out.

And we never see them come in.  All of a sudden they're just there.

And talking about weird.  Spirit have me on a schedule.  Some invites turn up on the spur of the moment and I'm like, Yes! while other plans which should be ok, aren't.  Spirit literally stop me from going.

I think I'm just going to take a chill pill and ride this Energy like a cool surfer chick.

Good vibrations, baby.

Much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Sequoia, Ralph, Chew and Az
