Horse Sense....

Works out I can't count.

So, I have 9 water troughs and got 16 goldfish, two fish in each trough, oh, wait...

When I realized that the fish needed to swim separately otherwise I was going to run out of fish...

But anyway, I guess you want to know why I have goldfish.  Well, it goes like this...I decided that my troughs weren't clean enough so waited until a girlfriend turned up to worm today, (I'll get to that) then asked her what she did.  And she was like, goldfish.

Hmmmmmm...ok then.

So, now we have added 16 goldfish to the Kettle family.

And 3 out of 4 horsey family members have been de-wormed.  Raise your hands who thinks it's Chew?  Nah, only kidding.  He was the easiest.  It was Miss Sequoia who point blank decided no how, no way was she having anything stuck in her mouth and you can't make me.  She has temporarily won that round.  I'll wait until Shane comes next week because he's done her before.  He's like, Aren't you pretty....boom.

And before you ask No, I can't worm my own horses.  I never learnt because I didn't want them to not like me.

****

Ok, I'm on a mission.

Sequoia's mane is driving me nuts.  She is so attractive but her mane is like a rastafarian.  And I can't deal with it any longer because I love hair.  And Sequoia's is bad.

The worst (or best) thing is that everytime I look at her I can see her mane flowing and I see her beauty.  She is beautiful now, I've just got to get her mane beautiful, too.

So, I've bought us all leave in conditioner from the hairdresser.  Human hairdresser.  Caps will also have his mane done as well as Azzy.  And of course, Ralph and Chew baby.

My horses are in good nick but I want Rachel Hunter hair.  Or mane.  I want that when you look at my horses, you go, Those are stunning horses.  Look at those manes.

I also had a lovely compliment the other day re my horses, when a girlfriend said, You know, your horses never kick or bite.  It's always nice to hear lovely things about my horses but when I thought about it later I realised that it's because we talk. Actually, they talk and I listen.  So, they don't have to be mean to me.

This is the Leave in Conditioner that we are using.

Worked brilliantly on Sequoia and Azzy.  Haven't used it on Ralph or Chew baby yet and Caps wasn't interested but his mane is pretty good and I'll just do his another day.  As you can see, no nasties.  People ask me why I share what I use on the family and that's easy...the stuff I share is only outside things, my horses are in good nick because of the magic within.

So Caps has decided he wants to be a country horse.

Now in some respects this is brilliant because a) He lives in the country and b) He's a horse.  So you know, it's always good to want what you are.  However, this means he has decided that he doesn't want to wear a jacket anymore.  Which again is brilliant, I would love my horses to be in such great nick that they don't need jackets.  However, Caps is a Thoroughbred and has been molly coddled a bit which roughly translates to he hates being cold and wet.  Right.  However, he was adament that he didn't want jacket on so I left his (actually, everybody's apart from the mini's) off.

And then it rained.  And rained and rained and rained.  With wind.  And a bit of a chill in the air.  And still that bloody TB refused to have his jacket on.  Actually, some days I wonder what I did in a previous life that every male in my life, no matter the species, is as stubborn as sh*te, slighty arrogant and thinks they're right no matter the subject, day or time.

Anyhou, moving right along...I asked if he wanted jacket on and I swear, hand on heart, he's standing at the gate, shivering because he's so cold and he still wouldn't give in.  He was like, No thank you, I'm fine as he's standing there vibrating like a Shake'n'Bake.

Ok then.

I blame Sequoia though.  I think she's told him stories about her previous stallion and is trying to get him to man up.

So, we're in a mexican stand-off.  I'm on Caps side, respect his wishes and want him to succeed. I also have a begrudging respect for Sequoia because let's face it that was pretty cunning and am doing the only thing that I can do which is making sure that they have as much Lucerne hay as they desire.

Let's wait and see how it all pans out, eh?

And we're flooding.  Cross fingers that the bloody rain stops soon.

And if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...

The water literally disappeared.  Spirit only knows where it went, it just went apart from that teensy bit in the middle.  Pond back to normal size.  Within 4 hours of it stopped raining.  Uber impressed.

But what I loved the most is this...

I went down and saw my darling this morning, had a feel around with flanks, nose and ears and Hello! he's as warm as toast.

Happy, toasty and might I say it, just a little proud of himself.

I'm proud of you too, Caps.  We've finally got your Thermo-regulator working right.

And I'm also proud of you, missy.  That's seriously impressive work.

Welcome to the girls club.

Wishing you much love my friends and of course, my humans.

Caps, me, Spirit, Sequoia, Ralph, Chew baby and Azzy
